I just got the latest Rare Wine Co. newsletter and was reminded of what a superb document it always is. The wine descriptions and background essays are far and away the best I've seen in any commercial catalog, and they rival and sometimes surpass the content in the wine media at large. Back issues are archived on the site:

But I suggest you get on the mailing list. Note there are also newsletters each year on olive oil and balsamic vinegar, products which the company conceptualizes in much the same manner as wine.
