I'm not so much decrying the situation as explaining it. And really, as this relates to the topic (something about the classifications of 1855, if I recall), I have already pointed out that the high prices on premiers crus are not much of an issue for those drinking good wine for enjoyment. There's plenty of reasonably priced wine out there (even Bordeaux). It is only if you must have a premier cru and only a premier cru -- which to me implies more of a focus on the prestige of the wine than on its quality -- that the prices are an issue. (Though even then the high prices really are part of the appeal.)

Still, I'm sure you understand that good wine you can't drink, like love lost, is worth lamenting.
