  1. And that’s why I like the frix. Small bekers, controlled quantities.
  2. Well, although the beker is a “bit” smaller, I’ve got 40 of them. So, quenelles shouldn’t be a problem. And I’m planning to fill all 40 with different ingredients and see what happens. The ice crystals I only noticed when you don’t freeze the beker fast enough or if you give the content chance to settle back. This machine can and and will only do two bar.
  3. Less than I expected. The door conceals most of the noise and if you put it on a solid structure, vibrations will also be less. Let’s just say that I could have a normal conversation while it was doing its thing. And the compressor… the beker is only 300ml and you can fill it up to 150ml. Getting a beker of that size and content up to 2 bar, doesn’t take a lot of effort. I couldn’t hear it.
  4. Did my first run with the Frix yesterday and my initial thoughts were:”I can sell my icecream machine”. It may not go as fast as the Paco and can’t make as much at the same time, but, as I’m using this as a private person, it is ideal for me. It is less hassle than the normal one and portions are ideal. Yes, the paco can make portions. But I need to take out a loan to get some more bekers. The 40 which I have now will suit me well and great for parties. And with 18kg, more portable than the 34kg paco.
  5. Ok, I think I can sell my other machine 😀
  6. First post of the new year! A while… well… two years ago I got my hands on a Nemox 3000 and shared some pictures of the ice cream I was making, in this forum. Just a few days ago I was able to attain a different way of icemaking. You’d probably think Paco. But no, also this time a Nemox. And more specifically, a Frixair frx 180. So, I’ll be making icecream the other way around and will share some pictures, when interested. You can certainly do more things with it, but this is the icecream department and I’ll stick to that.
  7. Ok, I know. I’m responding to a 17 year old topic… But it’s the only one mentioning Nemox’s Frixair. A few years ago I bought a Nemox 3000Pro. Makes great ice cream, but sometimes just too much. Then I ran into the paco, frix and ninja creami. Paco: great, but too expensive as it is still sailing the patent-waves; Frix: great, cheaper. But still way too expensive; Ninja: great, but don’t trust the reviews. Still, for €220 a reasonable option and if it breaks down… no crying about that. But sometimes miracles happen… This person bought it privately years ago, but had no need for it anymore. So, last thursday I picked up a Frix with 40 bekers. Handed over €400 and left smiling.
  8. Took me half an hour to peel the lychees, but the end result is worth it.
  9. As it is the season, lychee icecream.
  10. Not really necesarry, but it's in the freezer now.
  11. My first sorbet ever, strawberry. Gave it a 15 minute swirl. It is scary, but these past two weeks I made more batches than I ever did in those five years with my krups attachment. Two important lessons I've learned until now: 1) keep your batches manageable => small quantities; 2) tell your family a.s.a.p. that the ice cream is ready.
  12. Sorbet tonight. Two batches. Strawberry and raspberry.
  13. Had the same thought two weeks ago. This Butter Scotch icecream is delicious...
  14. Result after running the ice cream machine for 15 minutes.
  15. Installed my new scrapers this afternoon. Now I want to see how well my Nemox Gelato Pro 3000 is performing. Therefore I'm playing it safe. Some will curse me for this. But if it fails, I want to make sure it's not me. Therefore, mixture, colourant and flavouring. All natural, if someone's asking.
  16. As mentioned a few days ago, I was still waiting for a set of new scrapers. They arrived just this morning. I needed them, but looking at the price I paid: $30... Let's see how well they scan.
  17. Europe. Yes, that's where I live :-). I bought the combi steamer about 10 years ago. Funny though, never used it. Had it in storage until now.... My kids and I had dumplings this weekend.
  18. Yes, also discontinued. Tefal only sell steamers now. On the other hand, Tefal is not the only one selling combi steamers over here.
  19. "Was sold", actually. But combi-steamers are quite common over here in the Netherlands.
  20. Born in Friesland, moved around a bit and now settled in Sleeuwijk. I'll be ordering our oliebollen this year as I replaced the frying pan with an airfryer :-). And no regrets there.
  21. Nearly forgot, also have a Kenwood Major with all the whistles and bells.
  22. Usually my wife doesn't see the point why I buy them. Until she finds out how usefull they are :-).
