Andrew, Glad you found the 'Milt and the joys of all things Hotchie. P.S. I don't think that there is a wrong way to spell it considering it's never existed in print, just the lexicon of those in the know.
For all you current and future residents of Carlisle, on the cheap eats front, can't beat Faye's Country Kitchen for breakfast or The 'Milt (the Hamilton). At the 'Milt, order the Hachi burger or dog. I spent more time there than the Library when I was in college. Have the GPA to prove it.
I'll second Louridas Greek Tavern. Not Dmitri's, but pretty good. Three good BYOB's near by: Spezia on Lancaster Ave in Bryn Mawr is really good Itallian grub. It has gotten good reviews in the Inquirer. Fellini's Cafe on Lancaster in Ardmore is casual Itallian and an excellent value. Carmine's on Brookline Blvd in Havertown has excellent Creole inspired food. Or you could do what I do. Go to The Grog. It is right across the street from The Point and has really good food for a pub. Get your shine on and then go hear some tunes.
I thought the best part was when he tried to put his Essence on something (I forget which dish) and she said "No. I don't like that stuff." She also stopped him from putting salsa on the burger. A purist to the end.
Basilgirl, I'll see your crappy summer, your Isabel and raise you one tornado that hit my street this week. Fall is all about real apple cider and those spiced wafers in the black and orange box.
