  1. We were there recently and enjoyed it. Very good service. High noise level on a Saturday night. Interesting vertical presentations of food. Liked the quail. Very NY. Not the best you may have but worth a visit. Be sure to give us a report.
  2. I would encourage you to call Lance Knowling and tell him about your experience. I haven't been back to Indgo Smoke since they opened but I know they are usually very busy. We had a good enough meal there that I would return.
  3. Thanks for the report Hank. If you like China 46 you should also try Hunan Cottage on Rt 46 W in Fairfield. Ask for the Chinese menu.
  4. Hank--Check here first before you dine out.
  5. More postings about Medina are here. Medina

    Vin Expo--New York City

We got to Vin Expo on Thursday around 2 PM. The place was not crowded. How was it the other days? I don't need to go again next year if it is at Javits. We went straight to the Australian wines as we are going to Australia. Had some interesting wines but nothing I would run out and buy. Also tried some ice wines from Canada. By 3:30 we had enough (we swallow rather than spit) and walked from Javits up to 92nd and Amsterdam and had an early dinner at Gennaro.
  7. Been there many times but not within the last year. Would certainly return as the food and dining experience were always very good. The place can get noisy on weekends. BYO.

    stage left

Karla Cook from The New York Times had a review for Stage Left on Oct 6. The following quote was in the review. "As the months wore on, it became apparent to us that one person was the leader of that team," said Mark Pascal one of three co-owners of the restaurant. "Dan was doing all the cooking."
  9. Sorry Tommy but it is $45.

    Wine dinner

More information will be posted on Table Hopping With Rosie 10/30.
  11. I would make dinner at 5:30 at Casa Vasca to give yourself enough time to get to PAC. Be sure to make a reservation.
  12. CK's was just reviewed in the Nov. issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine. It should be up on the web next week.
  13. I think Spanish Pavillion in Harrison also has van service. You can park at the restaurant, have dinner and if yo want have dessert after the show. Have fun and let us know where you end up. Arthur's Landing is the same owner as the one in Weehawken. It's not the steak house.
  14. Please add Bara Sapir to the waiting list. I assume she is # 2.
  15. you said you were bringing riesling! I was going to bring reisling until I read that shiraz goes with Indian food! Since I share and you don't would you like me to bring reisling also?
  16. I really prefer red wine and will problably bring shiraz.
  17. Stephen's Cafe has closed. It will be reopening under a new name. Watch Table Hopping With Rosie/Openings and Closings for info.
  18. I have always enjoyed my meals at 28 Oak. The only downside is the location of the bathroom. You have to navigate a steep narrow flight of stairs to reach them. Be very careful especially if you have had some wine.
  19. Nov 14 is good for me. Rachel--are you coming?
  20. I'll bring a couple of bottles of white. Probably reisling.
  21. So what did you drink????? I think this place is owned by the same people who own Village Gourmet.
  22. Thanks BP. I'll try to get there.
  23. Anyone going?
  24. Is this the new place that recently opened? Do you have an address and phone #? Thanks for your report.
  25. you're not invited anyway. being a NJ person, 7.30 is better for me. Tommy please carry your ID with you. I believe you may be the youngest in the crowd.. and if you are half as lively as your posts... you may have the attention of the restaurant staff. Your boyish charm could work against you sometimes.... I would hate to have you get carded and for you to not have your ID. I want to see you in your full form. Oh dear. Suvir--I am the youngest. Be sure to card me. 7:30; $45 or more if needed. Whatever it takes for a great meal! From past experience I would suggest one bottle per person. Also, Tommy doesn't share his wine. You have to steal it from him when he's not looking. I'll bring white, perhaps reisling. My consort and I share.
