Meatza! I added the evil nachos because it missed something, it was okey and that is about it. Why did I I make this? Simple, a friend and I have game called Show me you cookbook, which means we say cookbook 4 from the left and page six and that is the recipe we are going to make. She got false turtle soup and I got meatza. Some one had gagged gift her a paleo cookbook, why gag gift, well her field of study is the stone age, people, habitat and what they ate and most paleo cookbooks are not close to the truth. Apparently cheese existed back then but not grain even though grain and beans has been found on stone age sites. So it just meat, egg and oregano in the base and then tomato sauce, ham , vegetables and cheese on top. My husband had piri piri added extra on his,

Not Ree, I know her well, this was an older woman and not Kathy Mitchell either.

Now Christmas is over in Sweden. Husband and kid has plundered the Christmas tree. We were supposed to have a party but everything has been cancelled due to the winter vomits ( yes that is the name here), the flu and the combo of both. And since it only was the kid and the husband doing the plundering I hung the candy in the tree and omitted the gingerbreads that normally hangs there. The paper thingies contains a toffee, fruit flavoured and there is even a Clementine lurking in the tree, which my kid ate first before toffees and other treats. Oh well, Christmas is over but soon there will be Easter and I promise I show you what we do then!

Sunday dinner, pork roast, cream gravy, vegs, yorkies and roasties. Just something we really wanted and needed after this week of weirdness. Oh well at least we should be alright Monday dinner was chip shop curry sauce with roasted chicken and rice with peas, all home made and I nearly got the chip shop curry sauce to taste like a chip shop curry sauce, which isnt a good thing but not a bad one either. It is just comfort food.

Oh we have hazelnuts in similar to Gianduja chocolate here but they are dusted with cinnamon or icing sugar or cocoa with cinnamon, I used to love them.

rlibkind: I am now drooling, that is so scrumptious and I am not a fish eater.
-
Glorifiedrice: Use lemon or ginger to rub on your hands, that is what my Indian friend says. Lemon washes away many weird smells,

I had dinner and read egullet today... My husband and daughter was tucked away in the kitchen to give me a few moments away from being climbing frame.

ChristTaylor: you are in for a treat if you do! They are my husbands favourites.

Alba is Gaelic for Scotland. Half of my family is Scottish and I do miss them a lot. I been recommended Criffel cheese by my father in law, it apparently heaven on yer tongue .

I had mini roasties and chicken &bacon burgers today, my husband cooked them and they turned out lovely. He made the burgers from home made chicken mince and flavoured to perfection and guess who's camera refused to work? Yeah mine. So sad because he had made a gorgeous meal and was so proud, I'm not cooking due to feeling poorly.

Irn bru and vodka shots, my husband remember this from his youth. The problem often is when some one not of the culture tries to do what every one thinks is of that culture, they most often end up with things that people in that culture dont eat or find naff. If she LOVES Alba so much, then give her the produce of the land.

Scotch pies and Irn bru is a must! You cant have a Scottish party without Irn bru. You could try to get hold of good Scottish cheese, sausages and cured meat , beer from williamsbrosbrew and brew dog and if you can get hold of Cairn 'o Mohr wines, get oak leaf! Instead of doing what English think is Scottish, celebrate the good produce Scotland does offer. Gha I miss my family now and a good Innis&Gunn. http://www.clarksfoodsonline.co.uk/cheese-c1/scottish-cheese-c2 http://www.taste-of-scotland.com/cheese.html

You could do Scottish breakfast food instead? Lorne sausage, beef sausage, black pudding, fruit pudding and use them as nibble. Scottish lentil soup is lovely. I do have a Scottish cookbook , my dear Scottish mother in law sent me. Oh for sweets you could make tablets!

Let me rephrase , have you tried blair's Death rain Jolokia Pepper or Blair's Jalapeno cheddar chips? It is bit hard reading with a cling-on 2 year old.

Have you tried Blair's crisp/chips? My husband loves them. https://www.deathsauce.com.au/

And I think I miss interrupted the words in my brain. Syrup in Sweden is high sugared flavoured concentrate and Saft is fruit juice with a little or a lot of sugar added and concentrated, drunk as cordial with water and I think that is what you call syrup and my husband family calls squash... Languages are confusing! If it is like saft, I am used to making that even though I haven't made it in a while. Rhubarb with vanilla used to be a favourite to make.
-
Andie: that is the slow cooking method I was thinking., We just call it SaftMaja, mine is broke so I use another way of doing the same job, how ever it been a few years since I made saft ( fruitsyrup)

I only know how to make juniper syrup the old fashion, slow boiling way. My friend however makes tomato and basil syrup by freezing and removing the lump of ice that forms on top.

Today we had Finish carrot bake, ham steaks, broccoli and gravy. It is nice to skip the standard starch dinners, I like carrots a lot and so do the rest of the family.

Kerry Beal , you are now making me miss chocolate chocolate gingerbread balls.

Kim Shook: Soured mustard sauce, the recipe I have is a guide more then a recipe. Chicken stock is thicken with soured cream and seasoned with dijon mustard and coarse mustard. I use creme fraiche for this since the lactose free sour cream isn't cook-able. Odd thing with the hoax, he hasnt fled the country and the police did get him and there is no gain in this at all for any one.

Modern dishwasher use less water then hand washing, so by green standard it better to use a dish washer, but only if your energy is green.

This was supposed to be our day when everything changed, everything would get better and no. This is a bowl of spaghetti of disappointment and I had some ice cream of despair, life isnt fair and why, see the link...http://www.thelocal.se/20150105/over-100-swedes-trickedin-hoax-job-offer

Torta di Noci. That was lovely, we have one some saved for tomorrow since it is a special day for me tomorrow. I will say shelling walnut and trying to make sure that the kid didnt eat them was hard work.
