  1. Hmmmm! I would ask the manufacturer.
  2. No tea shops in this county or nearby as far as I can tell. ETA: This place isn't far—Corning, NY
  3. So many brands have quickly gone to hell after an acquisition or snip-off. Locally, when Corning's kitchenware product manufacturing (Pyrex, Corningware, Corelle, Visions, etc.) was purchased by Borden (World Kitchen) in 1998—things went downhill REAL fast. And yes, Corning did make some small appliances. I have a small Pyrex (real Pyrex) topped electric warmer around here somewhere.
  4. The only ones suffering may be those who eat it. I wonder how many folks have actually tasted the stuff?
  5. Beautiful! Lee Valley/Veritas has some great stuff!
  6. Ask him to elaborate,
  7. Dang! I'm certainly curious, but I wouldn't know where to start working with 'real' tea. And I don't really need another 'hobby.' Plus, I'm dirt poor!
  8. Interesting!
  9. I've definitely been temporarily blinded a few times in the past!
  10. Yikes!
  11. Tried that long, long ago! There are far more than 3 of almost anything around here that's regularly used. It hasn't helped!!!
  12. Since I'm the world's most disorganized person and I'm CONSTANTLY misplacing stuff (especially shears/scissors.) I'm seriously considering obtaining a good pair of stainless steel kitchen shears and mounting them next to the sink—for easy cleaning—on a suitable stainless steel chain so the suckers can't 'go' anywhere! Something else to add to the birthday and Christmas wish lists.
  13. It's definitely expensive and unimpressive. I miss the old days. My mom's first job was at a small rural abattoir/butcher shop—they made some GREAT sausage.
  14. Welcome!
  15. IMO, I think it's best to direct your questions to the manufacturer.
  16. Yep!
  17. I'm eyeing the Bellemain 13" Stainless Steel Splatter Screen on Amazon. I've added it to my birthday wish list. Amazon search tip: Jungle-Searches is sometimes helpful in sifting through the clutter on Amazon.
  18. Another chicken leg quarter and some green beans today. Boring, but it needs to go!!!
  19. Please give us an update when they're 5 or 10 years old and beyond.
  20. That applies to several brands, of course.
  21. Perhaps I should have have looked into having the old range overhauled that was here when I bought the place. I don't know. When this range goes completely belly up—I don't think I'll ever own a kitchen range again. Actually, I feel like tossing it off a cliff now! I think I'll go with a high-end 'portable' induction cooktop and something like the countertop ovens mentioned previously in this thread.
  22. During my flights to Spain and back I can't remember eating anything other than a few simple snacks—that may have been due to too much booze!
  23. I've found that others with similar packaging (like Wegmans) don't have the same robust flavor. I think the major difference may be in the sourcing of the teas. The Bigelow chamomile 'tea' may be high-quality Egyptian grown.
  24. Had an energy/safety audit performed a couple months ago. The now ~7 year old GE gas range, which started going to hell at around 3 years old, is emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide (CO.) This isn't a top of the line stove nor was it bottom of the barrel. It wasn't inexpensive. Not for me anyway! I will NOT buy GE (now owned by Haier) appliances ever again!!! I'm not a happy camper. "In 2016, Haier Group acquired GE Appliances. Being a part of this large global organization provides GE Appliances with additional resources to continue to innovate and sell our products internationally."
