Goose is vastly superior to turkey except when it comes to carving you will be lucky to get 6 meals of a goose its no good buying a larger one the extra weight wiil be all fat in the bottom of the pan.Goose is one of the few meats that freezes well.Frozen turkey is best fed to the dog.

Incredible that places like this can get away with being so badly managed.Put this report on Tripadvisor please CFM eventualy you might make a difference.David looks as though you need to move it down the list for a bit,it only got 2 for food in Hardens last year.Anybody received the reporters edition yet,it came on the 4th December last year.

Wonderful realistic story Silvia,every time I see lobster on the menu in a restaurant I shall remember your bosses instructions"use the dead ones up first".

David you are a real chef groupie if you believe all the guff caterers put out.This is propably to much information on the subject ,any fisherman will tell you that seabream and mackeral are mostly found in the wild state near sewage outfalls or in currents carrying the effluent from them so you might even prefer the farmed type.

Good report David.We eat quite a lot of sea bream it is common on local fishmongers slabs since they started farming it,much preferable to soggy farmed sea bass.Your mackeral flavour would have come from its flank where the flesh had spent to long in contact with the guts,maybe you didnt want to know that?

A large percentage of people are selfish and thoughtless with everybody including family.When I ran a shop making conversation with customers I would often ask if their childen where coming for a special occasion only to be told "Not if they get a better offer".Restaurant bookings the same,the only way is to hit them in the pocket hard.We used to be a country where a handshake or promise was a bond.Now unfortunately a large proportion of people in the UK are bullshitters.

Terrific report and photos David illustrating how important good pictures are.A definite rival for LCS next time we are passing.On cancellation policy,my wife used to moan about having to leave a credit card number on booking until a party of ten sitting at the next table to us in our favourite local36 seats on xmas eve walked out,said they didnt like the menu.

My experiance of Campbells cooking at the vineyard on several occasions is that his skills are very variable I have had fair meals from him and some embarrassingly bad when taking guests.Complained and was shown round the kitchens at end of service,best part of evening.He has inflated ideas of his own importance you have not missed anything David.

Anyone who pays that price for a bit of chicken is off their head - fools and their money are soon parted!
