Sweet! And thanks again!

Thanks! Yes, I read about that. In fact, I have read the entire thread from start to finish over the last few days! Got lots of good tips and ideas! Have also found the instructions in the manual.

We get filtered water from our refrigerator, but the filter does not remove the minerals. We already have distilled water on hand for other uses and cost (of distilled water) is not an issue.

Anyone using distilled water in the reservoir? The instructions to periodically decalcify the unit got my DH and I talking as we have very hard water.

No particular reason, just testing to see if I could get same results as my non-convection conventional oven. Results were actually better - nicely crisp in a shorter cook time. Forgot to take photo of the final result. Next time. PS - Used Steam Clean Function to clean up the splatter! Worked well!

Bacon, Bacon, Bacon! Wright’s Applewood Smoked Thick Sliced - Convection Bake - 375F - 15 Minutes; the tray was added to the oven before the oven preheated and the slices were flipped when there was 5 minutes left on the timer. We shared one piece as an appetizer before using the rest in tonight’s dinner - Linguine alla Carbonara (posted on the Dinner topic)

The microwave is not going into retirement after all. It’s just so handy for heating water, cooking my DH’s frozen dinners and then there is Popcorn! 😋

Okay, a quick call to Cuisinart Customer Service and I was told it is the same thing, so I am going to open the box!

Yes, they allow cooking in a conventional oven.

I am planning to retire my microwave, toaster oven and toaster when my CSO arrives. However, my husband makes the occasional Marie Calendar’s Pot Pie and Stouffer’s Lasagna in the microwave and he is concerned about the time it takes to cook in a conventional oven. The boxes for these products say not use in a toaster oven. Since the CSO is so much more, I’m not concerned with that, but has anyone used the steam bake for these products? If so, how long did you cook it?

Mine is scheduled for delivery by 8:00 tonight! Planning to start with chicken thighs, then steam some veggies.

Was not really sure what name to put to this soup. I pulled some containers of corned beef broth with cabbage from the freezer and just started adding to it. Carrots, celery, mushrooms and green onions were chopped and added. Rice vinegar, soy sauce and Louisiana Hot Sauce were added next. A couple of teaspoons of ginger paste was stirred in. Fresh ground Black Pepper, ground white pepper and Granulated Garlic were added to the mix. Finally, frozen pork potstickers were added to the simmering soup. Final Name Choice: Potsticker Hot and Sour Soup with Vegetables

I finally pushed the button! Placed my order this morning through Amazon Prime at $256.87 and it is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, The Catbird Seat is closed on Sunday, which is the night we will be there, so we have a reservation at Scull’s Rainbow Room, which has great reviews, both for food and entertainment, and will be a short walk from our hotel.
