i don't think they're open yet. it used to be a bar/restaurant called "american grill" or something along those lines. that place hasn't been open for some time now.
  2. I just noticed that I'm member number 6666. Does that make me extra devilish? Devilish squared? Super-sized devil? and that was your 66th post. creepy.

looks like a new restaurant is moving into ridgewood. website.
  4. i have to admit that sometimes i put the straw up to my teeth and suck the soda right through the middle of my two front chompers.
  5. i sold my soul to BK back when i was 7 years old. i've never regretted it. although, i'm not half as cute as rachael is.
  6. rich, good to see you hanging around and posting.
  7. logic aside, i can't help but think that egullet, in some way, on a personal level, is pissed off at rick. call me silly. i think a lot of this anti-bayless rhetoric is nonsense, and certainly not applicable to those outside of the "CC", but this whole discussion seems strangely personal.
  8. Yes, but in so doing, you also avoid most of your tongue, so why bother? most of my tongue is situated behind my front teeth, which are the teeth that most people seem to see. your mileage may vary.

    Burger Club

i've already got dibs on this one, so don't even think about taking it.
  10. i'm thinking of labeling the tops. seems that those yellow or orange round stickers would do the job nicely. perhaps one color for herbs and another for spices, although i've got them on two separate shelves to begin with. and you're right priscilla. every now and again i go throw and chuck dups, and old stuff. i had 2 big things of paprika just today. threw a full one out.
  11. aside from The Manor's site, i can't find any info on this event, which pisses me off to no end.
  12. fifi has suggested using small plastic bins from the Container Store. i found these ridiculously inexpensive plastic bins. i might buy a few.
  13. drink soda with a straw to have the stuff avoid your teeth as much as possible.

    Burger King

that all sounds great, but i can't help but think that those requests would go completely ignored in NYC.
  15. on the Overstocking thread, i mentioned that i have lots of dried herbs and spices. they are stored on two shelves in the kitchen, which presents a problem as it's a pain to find anything. melkor, on that thread, smartly suggests using a big drawer for the stuff, with labels on top of each jar. i don't have a drawer like that. how does everyone keep their spices and herbs in order?
  16. i have too many dried herbs and spices. by "too many" i mean to say that i have duplicates of many. i think this is because i don't have them organized very well, and i end up buying more because i can't find the existing one. how the heck to you people store that stuff? on shelves doesn't seem very effective. edit: discuss here if you've got any tips for me.

    The Wine Clip

riedel has a long history, and is favored by experts. the wine clip doesn't have a history, and very few experts seem to endorse it. i don't think it's fair to compare peoples' reactions to the claims of the two.
  18. i'll second China 46, especially if they're into food.

    could be.
  20. kate, make some sun tea (if you have sun), by putting 6 or 8 bags of tea in a clear jug of water, and setting it in the sun for a few hours. conversely, boil the water and let the bags steep for 5 minutes or so and let cool. then you can stir in some mango nectar (or any other nectar type juice that you can find at the market - usually comes in a glass jar) to taste. add some fresh mint, and you'll have a very pleasing drink that isn't too sweet.

and i thought forkandpen might be a play on "Guitar and Pen", which is a Who song. a stretch, i know.
  22. i see i was there in spirit.
  23. Who is that "Everyday Italian" woman. boy, is she perdy. edit: ah, i see i'm a bit late to the party. it's Giada De Laurentiis. her show is pleasing.
  24. it has a flavor that is appealing to some. nothing takes the place of water. and diet sodas don't try.
  25. can i ask why diet soda wasn't an option?
