    French Beer

I recently tried an Alsatian beer named Fischer which I thought was nice. Please give us a report on your return....travel safe and have a great time!!
  5. Went there for drinks and munchies after a macys degustibus class a few weeks ago. It seems like a big bar scene. I saw a lot of burgers going by. I had some stuffed artichokes and calamari. Good bar scene and eye candy if your into it.
  6. Great stuff for the price. Purchased at Stew Leanord in Norwalk CT. By the way, has anyone stopped by Stews wine store. I think they do a great job.
  7. Good point. We were there with a group of people and the restaurant opened for us on their off day, so we did not encounter any of the problems you experienced. However I do think the the chef does a good job creating good food for a reasonable price.
  8. Had A nice lunch at Crispo on west 14th today. It was my first visit to the restaurant and thought the whole experience was very good. Has anyone eaten there recently/any comments?
  9. I'm spending xmas vacation in the area and I'm always looking for a new place to dine.
  10. Stopped by the shop on monday and found it to be very pleasant (they were under construction/renovation. I know that it is a matter of personal taste, but I think the product is excellent.
  11. Do they have a retail counter to purchase chocolate? I'll be in that area tomorrow and was thinking of checking the place out.

    Zoë

Sunday Night Dinner at Zoe: Squash soup with cilantro oil and tamari infused pumpkin seeds: nice soup with a zing from the cilantro oil which may have been made with chilie oil, the tamari pumpkin seeds added a nice contrast. Entree: Seared skate wing with creamy lentils: nice dish but perhaps just a little too much butter in the entire dish as a whole. I'm sure the fish was seared in clarified butter and with the creamy lentils it was a bit heavy on the palate. But it all went down well with a '99 Zin from Rocking Horse Vineyards. Dessert: a scoop of each: concord grape and quince sorbet and butternut squash ice cream. Zoe has always done a nice job in my opinion. May Chef Kelley and the Zoe team "live long and prosper" !
