  1. Mine came out of the oven about an hour ago. I'm very pleased with the result; definitely one of the better breads I've had. Although I agree with previous posts and will up the salt a little bit next time. Overall, it was a great article and an even better recipe.

    Duck: The Topic

Thanks for the great article. I'm probably going to do the "Shut Up" duck legs and cook the breasts separately. The more I think about it, it's pretty clear that my Muscovy duck won't be the best cooked whole.
  3. Unfortunately I don't have a car, so it looks like Russo's probably isn't going to happen for me very often. However, all the other places sound great. I think I'm going to be headed to New Deal and Savenor's tomorrow. Not sure what I'm going to be making, but from what I hear I won't be short on options.

    Duck: The Topic

Sure. I don't think that cooking methods with wild duck would be best for what I need, but I'm always in the mood to learn something new.
  5. Looks great, thanks for the tip. It's not exactly right down the block like Wulf's, but it seems pretty convenient to get to. I've come across Savenor's, which is one of the coolest markets I've ever been in. Do you know of any other nice specialty foods stores around?
  6. Working at a restaurant one night, I asked one of the cooks to make me any kind of sandwich he liked. What resulted was a giant mound of thinly sliced rare prime rib on Texas toast with a chipotle mayo. Insanely good. Also (sorry, no pic) a pan-fried soft-shell crab BLT on toasted sourdough I made a few weeks ago.

    Duck: The Topic

So I know that this is topic has been apparently beaten to death recently, but I'm still not quite finding what I need. I have come into possession of a whole (almost) 5 lb Muscovy duck. At this point I'm not sure what I want to do with it. I'm open to any ideas. Any takers?
  8. I've been in Boston now for a couple of months, and I'm in the search for the best seafood market. I live near Wulf's in Brookline, but I'm really on the lookout for something more comprehensive. Any suggestions?
