Turbo Broiler oven MarketMan has written about the turbo broiler... Turbo Broiler You guys think I can roast a whole duck ala Peking Duck style?

  7. I went through the entire site in one sitting. My kids laughed along with me.
  8. The Philippine siling labuyo has been in the Guiness World Record for being one of the hottest chili peppers in the world. Your mouth doesn't only go numb from the hotness but feels like it is literally on fire.
  9. What a wonderful, eloquent and colorful story. I can't wait for more.

  11. Ah Leung, I remember the White Rabbit candies too! I grew up with them... I love the thin wrapping paper. I actually prefer it from the actual candy. My son saw the picture and asked if we could have my parents send him a pack. LOL I, too am sad that this great blog has to end... at the same time glad to have been a part of your life. Of course, we will be joining you at the Chinese forum. It's like being with family! Don't forget to send me your snail addy. I already got your coke cans here ready for mailing. Doddie

  13. Nope. As I said this is an old movie. It is actually a remake of an older movie and is the inspiration for the tv show "I Dreamed of Jeannie".
  14. I also wash/rinse my rice, I do it 3 times. I also sometimes let it soak too for a more fluffier, tender feel in the mouth. If I need to fry it later for fried rice, I lower the water level a tad so that the rice is not as sticky and ends up being a little dry. Perfect for garlic fried rice.
  15. Reefpimp gets #79 - it is indeed our favorite cannibal - Hannibal. Hey that sounds good.... Hannibal the Cannibal.
  16. Ah Leung, My father also collects Coca-Cola cans. He has cans from Thailand, HK, Korea and of course the Philippines. If you like, you can send/PM me your snail mail addy and I can send you a couple of cans of Coke from Korea. We got the short fat one, long thin one and the regular size one.
  17. More games: 78. From an old movie: eyebowl soup served in a metal bowl 79. Fresh bits of brain, sautéd in butter and herbs 79. Extremely bloody piece of beef being roughly hewn in a very genteel restaurant

  19. Answers to 67 and 68 are both correct. Congrats Insomniac and I_call_the_duck! 66 game: more clues, the live reptilian alien frogs were served from a glass bowl while a blue dancer danced
  20. I am Filipina and haven't heard of this. I have heard of "lokot" but know of it as seaweed. I think I agree what was posted on the same site... Quote: * There's been quite a debate in the comments below about whether I was really eating shit or not. So far the most believable and acceptable response is this from Doodz: "It's actually digested seaweed, and it's really shit. It's not from fish, but rather, it's "trepang" shit, otherwise known as sea cucumbers."
  21. Joining supertasters who like the yucky stuff - coffee, grapefruit, cabbage, Brussels sprouts and spinach, etc.
  22. I would like to add these movie games: Game 66: Live, wriggling reptilian alien looking frogs swallowed whole. Game 67: Chilled monkey-brains served fresh from the original container. Game 68: Sushi prepared/served by a commando penguin
  23. Look forward to more pictures and posts cookaburra!
  24. Ah Leung, if I am ever in your part of the world, I would take you up on your offer to go cross-country with your camper and wok. I love the preserved plum candies that you featured. My mom's best friend was Chinese and she would give us packages every couple of months. My mom would hord them while I would sneak behind her back to grab a couple every now and then. Too bad Mom's best fried got involved with a HK mafia ganster lord (she became his mistress) and couldn't come back to the Philippines. She left a hubby and child back in my country.
  25. OLD CLUE: 44. String cheese. NEW CLUE: Make cheese, not war. Mousehunt starring Nathan Lane, Lee Evans and Christopher Walken (delightful role as a quirky rodent/vermin exterminator).
