  1. Ooh, don't think I had thought abut Argan oil! Good tip, Pras! Piazz: that's exactly the kid of info I needed, thank you so much. Off for a bit of sun I go.
  2. Thanks, piazz, that would be great! I'll have a chance to check in once or twice before I leave (Saturday), so that would be much appreciated!
  3. How... fabulous. It's pretty much what I had expected, though. Not sure I'll be going for the macdo, but we might end up eating at the hotel. Club sandwiches and caesar salads (the staples of every room service menu).
  4. In between moving countries and jobs, selling an apartment and trying to find another, and as our honeymoon, my husband and I have booked a holiday to Agadir next week. I know it's touristy and built up and so on, and that there will be plenty of all day english breakfasts, but we needed somewhere relatively close to home where it would be warm and we could just relax without 10 hour flights etc etc. Does anyone know of anywhere good for us to eat? Any other recommendations?
  5. Over in the UK & Ireland forum, there was a thread recently about the Observer Food Monthly (food supplement to the Observer, a sunday newspaper) where a couple of people (me included) made a similar point about the OFM being celeb-focussed and lacking in solid, weighty articles. jayrayner defended the supplement admirably by taking chris's point above that it's not exactly targetted at us and for such a mainstream publication, it would be close to sales suicide to do so. And then the new OFM issue came out and it was great anyway, featuring our very own TheBacchus and his resto in London.
  6. I'm so hungry.... perhaps office stationery is edible.
  7. Me too, Tim. damn Christmas shopping got in the way. Have had a little looksee online, and liked what I saw... sorry if that disappoints you Jay. Will try to do better next time.
  8. See, jay? at least you have some willing "testers" to point out the typos..
  9. Sorry to hear that, Melissa. How about soups? Almost always welcome, particularly at this time of the year... (and can then be frozen later if not needed). I have memories of long-drawn out soup cooking sessions after my grandmother died. A surprisingly nice time with my family.
  10. I always get "le visage" wrong. Sounds like it should be feminine to me. Although it might be to do with the fact that my (french) husband thinks it sounds cute when I get the articles wrong and I earn a kiss every time I do it. La visage! La visage! (ok, that's a little over the top...)
  11. Oh god, I want some of that Yağlı ekmek for breakfast.
  12. Ms lawyer thanks you for the clarification, mr wooster.
  13. Did he cry? The over-made up ones?
  14. Hi Hazel. Enjoy Thorntons... Look forward to hearing about it in detail - from both sides of the table!
  15. He'd have to go one step further than free food to get me to eat in there again...
  16. Interesting, corinna. Shelbourne seems like it'd be the perfect location for him. Otherwise, I know there's a new office building opening up on the south docklands, going to be brim-full of lawyers, maybe he'll do like gary rhodes did with D7 and the capel building, and put in something really abysmal that'll be packed full of lawyers even though the food's awful.
  17. Funny sig line, sean. What do you want to make? Is it specifically a cheese thing, or have you a yearning for tayto crisps (potato chips) and dennys rashers (bacon)? ok ok, you're not an Irish expat searching for the... finer tastes of home... If there's anything non-perishable, I might be able to put together a care package! (this offer has a short shelf-life, though, I'm making the traditional irish move to london in January)
  18. There's a book called "What to eat when you can't eat anything" written by two teenagers, which might be able to help. Might be nice for her to have her own resopurce on hand as well as your wonderful help! Check it out here.
  19. It may not be the cheese that you want, but for smoked fish, the Connemara Smokehouse is absolutely amazing. He's a lovely guy too...
  20. After last night's episode I think we need Ramsey-approved liquid eyeliner, to be applied copiously before stomping off.
  21. Targa, I've still got crossed fingers for you - it would make sense that after fulfilling X number of people's requests for a fixed date, they'd fit in Y number of people who didn't specify...
