  1. The people here are just the best on earth !!! Thank you all so much. I'm ready to roll. I was searching YouTube and I want some sous vide poached eggs bigtime.
  2. Now question number 2. Is there any cookbook or website where I can learn to use this thing when it arrives? I wouldn't know how to cook 2 chicken breasts from 2 scrambled eggs.
  3. Thanks ! I just ordered the Gourmia. Appreciate the advice..
  4. I have no counter space left.. Zip,none. It would have to be stored in another room, which I could do. Using it countertop would mean moving something. I understand that.
  5. Single household, but I can't hold out any longer.I want one. I've read the threads, but now there are so many variations and brands, and newer ones every day, I'm boggled. What's the best budget price for one that works? No point in buying something substandard. Complete unit, or just the immersion thingy? Help?? whimper ,whimper
  6. My IP. The best. Actually I bought another. Now I have two. And the new Kitchenaid food processor that dices. I bought it on a whim and I had wonderful Cuisinart already, but I'll had to admit that dicer function is the bomb!
  7. Their website is working fine now. Give it another try. Their $100 canister sets are 21.95. I've place 4 orders in the last week and two have already been delivered. They're coming by FEDEX.
  8. I want to see what copper goodies they have.
  9. I just got in. de buyer pan I paid60,00 for 24,95.Site is killer slow.
  10. I just got an email they are going out of business after 36 years. It looks like their website has temporarily crashed, I can't even get in. All sales final, there may be some great deals.
  11. I'm not a Facebook person either. But I'd say an exception needs to be made this time. The instantpotcommunity page is a goldmine of info and pics.
  12. You beat me to it. Four good sized beets in it last night, perfectly cooked and rubbed them with a paper towel and the skins just slid right off. I'm one of those who loves mine so much I bought a second one too.
  13. I have that exact same one. Pliers will snap off the handles and it's a perfect fit. Definitely worth the price. I use it a lot.
  14. Cleaning the freezer and I need to make room. I have numerous packages of vacuum sealed pumpkin puree from last fall when those little sugar pumpkins went on sale. I'm thinking of baked pumpkin donuts. And I'd love a maple glaze. Does anyone have an really good recipe for either or both? Or a better idea ? Not a fan of pumpkin soup, prefer a baked item.
  15. I've used a traditional PC for 35 years. No more.
  16. 60? the highest model without the Smart technology.. This thing comes up to pressure in no time. But it doesn't need us to stand and wait. Set it, go play.
  17. I have one I picked up for maybe 5 bucks probably 15 years (or more) at a thrift shop, with 2-3 different inserts.. I had to go look, it's a Macina-Legumi. Built like a tank and I use it constantly.I'd be lost without it. And it looks like new, although it's probably been through my dishwasher a thousand times.
  18. I never heard of this before. Of course since I read it here, I had to get one. I am seriously impressed. Loving it. One stovetop pressure cooker and 3 different sized slow cookers just got put into the 'donate to charity' box. Get one. Now. First time, sauteed chicken, changed to pressure cooker mode,,addded veggies and seasonings. Pressure cooked for 15min , opened, added a bit more liquid and noodles, simmered with lid off for a few min. I was done in less than 30 minutes with one really great chicken stew. One pot. And the saute setting is plenty hot enough to get the job done. I am very happy.
  19. I'm a bit confused by some of the replies. I have numerous pieces of Calphalon anodized aluminum and they are a helluvalot more nonstick than SS. Burned milk , several sauces (including cheese) ,cleanup was pretty easy. Most of it goes in the dishwasher. Plastic scrubbie or sponge ,a squirt of Dawn, and bingo. Clean. They are certainly not the size of the bathtub OP needs, but?....
  20. Stickers and wax. It always pisses me off that I have to deal with either one. Consistently.
  21. Thank all of you for your replies. After a bit of reading (I actually read the cons on the reviews this time) and the replies here, I've decided a breadmaker is just not for me. Even a top of the line Zo. I enjoy breadmaking. . I have a KA stand mixer for my kneading. My proofing has been perfection every time since I bought that Brod and Taylor proofer several years back .So's my yoghurt making too. I have to try just about every bread recipe I come across. I know how to tinker with my dough, poolish, biga, whatever. I know when it looks and feels right. I want the ability to tinker with it whenever I please, dammit. I don't think a Zo would really save me any time. It might even take some of my therapeutic fun out. Then there's the paddles to screw with, or a deformed loaf. .. Nope. The replies pro and con were most appreciated. They have saved me about $300.00 that will be saved for my next gotta-have-it kitchen toy. Thanks friends !!
  22. I bake almost all my own bread. But I'm thinking a bread machine might be a timesaver, which I sorely need sometimes. I believe I'm correct that a Zo is the only brand to buy, right? But I just checked Amazon and there are so many models. Any owners who can give me some advice? Would it be a good purchase, but most of all, which one? The highest price doesn't necessarily mean it's the latest or best. Heck, they might not even have the latest or best. I'd prefer all the bells and whistles if I get one as I bake every bread imaginable. And if there's a reason I should not purchase one, pipe up and say so ! Thanks. Brenda
  23. I bought one of these weeks after it first became available. I don't know how I ever lived without it. I thought I baked great breads. But after I got one I saw what a difference the exact proofing temp ( and humidity) made. Now everything is consistent. Every time. And just plain better than before I bought it. And I don't have to fiddle with covering with a tea towel and all that nonsense. I had it for about a year before I tried making yoghurt in it. Big mistake. It turns out the best darned yoghurt you could ever hope for. When you get to the point where you don't even bother folding it up and putting it away, then you'll realize how much you use it. Buy one and never look back. It's that good.
  24. Just to clarify, I don't want nonstick. He has enough of those.
