I would attend a licorice tasting in a second! Mmmmmmmmmmm! You could also have different types of Ouzo for sampling.

This is an interesting blog for me. Believe it or not my family owns a rather large chunk of land in Zambia. We have a farm on the land right now, but my dad is interested in developing tourist attractions and accomodations. I will be taking notes. -
Is Wally's Burgers for sale. Not that I am in the market, just curious. Can anyone confirm for me that the Wally's veggie burger is infact a fried egg on a bun? A veggie friend of mine told me this a few years ago...and I really want to believe her...but...

I just noticed that CTV News is going to be airing a week long special on local burgers. I didn't catch the details. *Oh! I just saw the commercial again...starts tonight at 6.

Big Turk candy bars are vile. I don't know if they are available outside of Canada. They are made by Nestle and they are basically a faux turkish delight jelly covered in "chocolate".

SBonner, That is what I like to hear! I've worked as a manager in high-end retail for most of my adult life and I have interviewed a lot of potential staff in that field. I was always more interested in candidates who had a spark of passion for the industry than those with years of retail experience. Often, I would eagerly interview people who had worked in food service because I found the skills transfereable. There are a lot of parallels between retail customer service (specifically in an upscale boutique) and food service...but that could fill a different thread. Any leads you have would be much appreciated.

Oh, this topic is interesting to me! I'm only in my late 20's but I have very little serving experience. It would be interesting to know what a "first timer" could do to win a waitressing job. I'm willing to work chain restuarants first...or start as a hostess. Kim Shook...I hope this isn't a hijack of your thread.

I don't have smoothies very often but my favorite one is: 1 banana soymilk 5 dates (rehydrated before you put them in the blender) 1 tbsp of almond butter cinnamon yum!

I live alone, so I don't hide food...but I am unable to have cereal or cookies in the house. I will easily polish of an entire box of either in 1.5 days. -
But it has a 5 star rating!

Mmmmmmm...Chupacabra Chops! No, seriously! Click the link and scroll down. -
I once bought an Amedei Chuao bar in Toronto on impulse. I didn't realize until I got home that it was about $13. I had a good laugh...but I enjoyed the bar. Can you purchase Amedei in Vancouver?

How the heck are you supposed to cook a mythical salamander? Microwave? -
Hmmm...I am beginning to think I might actually be a man.

I have tried the lemon. I purchased it to mix with water...because I don't like plain water. At home, I use real lemons...but when I am at work or out of the house for the day the packets come in handy. It doesn't taste particularly fake...but I have never attempted to cook with it.

I recall that the sugar-free Ben & Jerry's was revolting. I have had very good sugar-free ice cream and gelato...but B&J got it all wrong.

I love La Casa Gelato! The Pear and Gorgonzola is delicious. As for Fantasy Ben and Jerry's flavour...I would like a variation on the Mexican Chocolate. If they could turn the Dagoba Xocolatl in to ice cream I would be thrilled. The Xocolatl is 74% cocoa with chilis, cocoa nibs, vanilla, nutmeg and maca.

Oh this is easy...I would go to my mom's so she could cook me some Ifisashi and Nshima (Zambia's version of soul food). However...if I must pick somewhere public...I would stuff my face full of chocolate and pastry at Sen5es.I'll have one of everything please.
