  1. I've had this dish a few times at chinese restaurants, but I've never been able to find a recipe. It's thin fried noodles usually with bean sprouts, white and green onions, and a soy sauce-y taste. When I've had it in dim sum it usually comes in a clear bowl, upside down on a plate. If anyone has a recipe for this or could tell me how to recreate it more or less I'd appreciate it!

    Jones Sodas

There is indeed a Jones drink called "whoopass," it kept my awake on a 12 hour car trip this summer I tried the caramel apple and candy corn flavors. The caramel apple reminds me of apple cider but with a subtle caramel aftertaste. The apple flavor is good though, it's not the usual overly tart sour apple flavor you get in apple flavored stuff. The candy corn sort of tastes like plain corn syrup - although I guess that's basically what candy corn is. It's good though, and bright yellow so it turns your whole mouth yellow. It actually freaked me out for a minute when I looked at my teeth in the mirror
  3. I usually mix together 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup worcestershire, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, two tablespoons of mustard and heat it on the stove until it's all combined and glossy. I think it's better thaan the storebought stuff, but it's also less convenient.
  4. I went to La Super Rica with five other people, and together we ordered about twenty different things It was by far the best Mexican food I've ever had. One dish in particular, a tortilla with cheese and tons of roasted green peppers, was amazing. The line may be long, but everyone's so excited about the food that no one really cares; all anyone was talking about was what they were planning on ordering.
  5. Hiroyuki - that's the stuff. Pocky or Pretz, I'm going to try it out soon.
  6. Could it have been Pretz rather than Pocky? I tried maple butter Pretz early this year. It was good and I'd buy it again but I haven't seen it since- I think it was a seasonal item. ← Ahh, I think you're right. Either way I'll have to go back and check it out. It's definitely not something that Uwajimaya carries all the time, it was on display as a "special," so it's probably seasonal. Better act on it quick! And torakris - thanks for the welcome!
  7. Today I saw some maple butter (I think that was it) flavored pocky at Uwajimaya in Seattle. It had a picture of a pancake with maple syrup on the front... Has anyone had these? I've never seen thembefore. Unfortunately I didn't pick any up, I'll have to do that next time I'm there.
