  1. We were hooked after DOV 2004 and it's risen to the top of our go-to places in town after consistently superb return visits. This year's DOV gave us the opportinity to convert 2 more friends Now if our friends tell their friends and so on...dang! It's gonna be hard to score a table! [Moderator note: The original Dine Out Vancouver - The Topic topic became too large for our servers to handle efficiently, so we've divided it up; the following part of this discussion is here: Dine Out Vancouver - The Topic (2008-)]
  2. Hmm, last 3 are a bit spread out - we're mostly eating in these days as per our annual Jan-Feb rein-in-the-spending plan (allowing a few DOV meals though ) last night: Noodle Box (had a craving for something mindblowingly hot) last Friday: Parkside for DOV (a chance to introduce some friends to it. Outstanding as always) a while ago: Kolachy Shop for a lunch (homemade beef-barley soup and a bbq beef kolachy made for a perfect hearty belly-warming lunch on a chilly day).
  3. ^^ I second the Burgoo suggestion. Nothing like some comforting stew to make one feel all warm and soothed.
  4. I just googled and found mention in a Victoria shop's (Plenty Epicurian Pantry) blog. Don't know if any of the following would have them, but you could also try: Gourmet Warehouse Patisserie Bordeaux on Alma and 10th (this bakery carries a few French grocery items) Stongs Grocery on Dunbar Good luck!
  5. Hi! (first post from an occasional lurker who just discovered that she can post) Our happy chickens come from Stong's market on Dunbar (often on sale too). I don't know if the free range is also organic (I think there's also organic available but I don't know if that's free-range ), but I'm sure they can tell you more if you call.
