  1. The problem with Chambar, Cafe De Paris, etc., is that they are in vnacouver, and i am in london/. plus, i am not in the habit of fine-dining every time i want a quick bite... ! As far as White Spot goes, it is very hit or miss.. the BEST whitespot, bar none. is the white spot express near kits beach. the owner is fastidious and looks over everything....! whitespot has def. downgraded in the past 10 years tho, the burgers never used to be pink nad grey colored!~
  2. I was in Notting Hill Books for Cooks, and i believe they had the oil.... OR it was at this place Toms Deli in Westbourne Grove (near Notting Hill)...! i spent the day there and i saw it somewhere! Hope this helps! Almost sure it was at books for cooks tho... i would call them to make sure tho!
  3. I probably should've opened a new account to ask this question as I am surely discrediting anything I say from here on out, but I was wondering if there are any Wendy's franchises in London? I saw there WAS one on Oxford street, but to my knowledge it is no longer there. Please help me out, i miss their fries!
  4. that looks incredible. its 1:08 am and i am lying in bed. fishn'chip dreams will surely ensue!
  5. Tio Pepes was the worst restaurant I have ever been to in Vancouver. They had absolutely no pizazz in the kitchen. The meat in my enchilada was incredibly tough, and the entire thing was DRENCHED with cheese. It has been a running joke in my family that we will return to tio pepes. it was seriously the worst meal i've ever eaten out.
  6. Omnitsky Kosher Deli on 49th near Cambie has homemade (well, in their factory in Richmond.. ) dogs for a dollar i think. They're kosher meat so there aren't any suspect cow parts in it (any part of the animal involved in digestion of food is non-kosher)! They also have larger dogs as well, and they use kosher buns from Garden City bakery (they may or may not be egg buns, cant remember). Either way, they're delicious.
  7. There is a bar in Whistler at the bottom of the mountain (Whistler Mtn.) called the Dubh Linn Gate which served excellent halibut and chips last time I was there. Granted, the fact that it is a BAR and I was likely SMASHED should cloud my judgement, but I recall good texture, and firm fish.
  8. I goto La Terrazza a few times a month (often weekly) for their Bolognese. I usually request that it come with spagetti in leau of their tagliatelle as I find the sauce more suited for the thinner noodle. That being said, is there anywhere else with a decent bolognese sauce? Il Giardino is good, although inconsistent, and I found Feenies to be excellent (albeit unauthentic)! Most restaurants seem to go overboard with tomato paste/sauce which ruins the delicate flavors of the meat (if cooked correctly).
  9. I actually found the chicken at Juicy to be overly salty, but nowhere near terrible. Prime Time was Worse. Heavier, greasier chicken, and definitely even less comfortable than juicy. I actually thought juicy was still better than KFC by far, and pretty close to church's, with Lee's/LA chicken in richmond still being the king. Oh, this encounter with Juicy was about 1.5 years ago. ← Likewise. I used to rather enjoy Juicy, but the last time I went there I was absolutely sickened. The reason I rank Primetime above Juicy is because I am likely inebriated anytime I would ever frequent it, and therefore, enjoy my greasy food more than normal. Either way, Juicy did a renovation recently so perhaps it is back to its former glory.
  10. Juicy Fried Chicken. This place is the nastiest dive I've ever eaten at. Actually, Prime Time Chicken downtown is almost as bad. Almost. I honestly puked not so long ago from eating Juicy, and this was after a single bite. AVOID
  11. i would actually recommend going to omnitzky (its on cambie just south of 41st) because they tend to have a fresher selection of bagels. AND great 99cent hot dogs. ← Omnitzky's prepares the kosher meals for Air Canada flights. The next time you fly on Air Canada, I would recommend that you pre-order the kosher meal. I think it's better than the regular Air Canada food. ← What sorts of dishes do they usually prepare? i tend to bring my own food if i fly air canada b/c the food is so terrible. i would imagine the omnitzky food is still not that great?

  13. haha, upscale foodcourt!!! (no disrespect.... just thought that sounded funny)
  14. I've been buying bagels at Kaplans Deli almost my entire life. They are also available at Omnitzky Kosher Deli and in my opinion, they are the best bagels in the city (though i am biased). They are made by Garden City Bakery in Richmond at a kosher facility. They range in size, but are usually on the smaller side. They are very delicious. Chewy but not the least bit heavy. Delicious!
