  1. Has anyone tried Strawberry Cones in Aberdeen Center? (it's a Japanese pizza chain with some pretty wacky toppings -- Hokkaido Potato Tuna anyone ? )
  2. I went to Bing Sheng a few nights ago. We ordered a tofu & mushrooms dish, beef with ginger in a clay dish, and a fried noodles dish -- only the tofu was good. Perhaps I didn't order correctly, but I was very disappointed, as were my Shanghainese friends!
  3. Hi, As per the topic, anywhere to get good chocolate chips in London ? Superchef/Supercook brand chocolate chips are awful -- and I haven't seen any anywhere else ! All the best on this snowy afternoon, Josh.
  4. Hi, Taking my girlfriend out and looking for somewhere romantic, possibly with a view? (also, excellent food -- but that sort of goes without saying)! Any ideas ?
  5. I live around the corner from Byron, and am pretty impressed when compared with all of the other 'gourmet' burger chains. That being said, still ain't amazing.
  6. Mohsen is great, but I don't like that everything is lamb -- I personally prefer koobideh made of beef.
  7. I went to Franco Manca a few weeks back with my girlfriend. The place was jammed, and we waited probably 40 minutes for a table. We each ordered a pizza margarita -- my girlfriend loved hers and mine was borderline awful. Somehow, my pizza was totally underdone -- the base was soggy, and the crust heavy. Hers was somewhat less-so, though I didn't particularly enjoy hers either. I bet it must've just been a bad batch, and am willing to give another try, or maybe I just don't enjoy authentic pizza?
  8. A business has more assets than those which can be quantified in a sale -- i.e., goodwill. Poor creditors, but don't for a second think that Mr. Aikens is in a good financial position, either.
  9. It's bog standard Indian in a dated setting, though. ← I thought they were doing it up? Biggest PITA is the way they play on all the zelebs turning up there. Unfortunately it's true. Woody Allen was there last time I went for Sunday Lunch with his nanny or wife or daughter or something. H ← You mean the Bombay Brasserie in South Kensington? Why on earth would any celeb go there ? The place is ghastly !!!! I live 2 minutes away, and ate there once -- Masala Zone food at Cinnamon Club prices. I do wonder what the refurbishment will entail. ← I happened to park up by there on Satur

  12. I like Il Giardino, especially for a special occasion, more than Villa Del Lupo. The latter is a bit quiet, which might be more romantic, but might also be a bit boring.
  13. If you are traveling towards Whistler, take a detour into downtown Vancouver and try Imperial, or Victoria (or even Shanghai Bistro is alright in a pinch). All are quite good -- not the best the city has to offer -- but good nevertheless.
  14. Does anyone know where to get those in Vancouer or online in Canada? I wanna drop some food drugs!!!
