In the recent issue of BC Business Magazine, there is an interesting article about how Cupcakes http://www.cupcakesonline.com/ is generating almost $1 million a year in revenues. That is about half a million cupcakes a year! Wow, I find that an incredible number!

The coffee at Our Town is great! I tend to get Henry's coffee which is an Americano with chocolate in a large cup.

I thought that place was closed. Last time I drove past it, I saw a for sale sign on that property.

If you want Mexican hot chocolate, head to Rinconcito Salvadorean located on 2062 Commercial Drive. It is very rich and smooth, almost like drinking a liquid chocolate bar.

I remember that they deep fried almost anything, including oreo cookies. Unfortunately it is closed, and it has been replaced with a Greek restaurant now.

Guu has okonomyaki on its menu.

Where on Kingsway is it located?

Kintaro's posted a sign in its window that says that they will be opening a second location in Richmond in mid-October. Location TBA.

I nominate Rodney's Oyster Bar's clam chowders, served with some oyster crackers. They have very hearty chowders and can be a meal in itself.

I don't think a place like this would work in Vancouver, unless it is set up as a front for a sports bookie, like this one in New York.

After waiting for several months, Solly's on Yukon and 7th has finally opened its doors to the public. Going to get a chocolate Babka bun right now.

I always head over to get one of the funnel cakes at the PNE. Hot, fresh, light and fluffy, topped off with powdered sugar.

It looks like Duffin's is going to open a new location on 41st and Knight! They are taking over the Country Style donuts location. On their window, it says coming soon, Torta subs and chinese fast food.

The Gourmet Warehouse has moved to their new location at 1340 East Hastings. They are having problems with Telus, so they do not have any phone service.

What about the awesome sandwiches at Grotto di Fromaggio? They are the best sandwiches in Vancouver. Imagine an Italian sandwich piled high with artichoke hearts, eggplant, peppers, capricollo, and provolone cheese along with the pesto mayonnaise, oil and balsamic vinegar and grilled to perfection.

Solly's has salty twists with mustard. It is not a soft pretzel but close.

I like the hot dogs at Vera cause it is a Nathan's hot dog. I can't find anywhere else in Vancouver that has that type of hot dog that snaps when you bite into it.

I remember there being a passing reference to "salmon skin roll" on an episode of Friends. Any care to back me up on this? I only remember because this was the first I'd heard mention of BC roll outside of our province. I think... Nobu in New York calls it a salmon skin roll, no reference to a BC roll whatsoever. I don't recall ever hearing it being called a BC roll outside of BC.

I asked them last week, and they said they expect to be open in July. But when I asked them last month, they said they expected to be open in June.

Is that going to be near where Ecco Il Pane is?
