You can try the Clubhouse, Guu, or the Eatery to get your okonomiyaki fix.

Wow Vancouver - this is an amazing map! Tons of my favourites as well as quite a few I'm looking forward to trying. I had no idea there was a Japanese-run gelato place on Granville Island...Will you take suggestions for additional restaurants? Congee Noodle House at Main @ Bway would be one of mine... ← I recently went by Congee Noodle house, and they were closed with newspapers on the windows. Perhaps a renovation?

Rodney's Oyster House, but you can only order the po'boy at lunch.

There is a new place that opened in Chinatown, but I forgot what the name of the place is. It is on the North side of East Pender between Main and Gore.
-
You can try Ganache Patisserie for some macaroons.

Shiro's on 3096 Cambie Street has cold soba.

New pizza place? I will have to check it out. Is it close to where the Waves coffee shop is being renovated? ← Yup... 1/2 a block south, a couple of storefronts away from Prado Café. ← I tried the pizza at Urban Grain over the weekend. Their pizzas are multigrain, low carb pizzas. It is not a bad alternative to the cheap pizza places along the drive.

New pizza place? I will have to check it out. Is it close to where the Waves coffee shop is being renovated? Don't forget the sandwiches at La Grotta Del Formaggio.

I try to head over to Shiro's for lunch at least once a week. With all of the fencing blocking any way of getting there from Cambie and the traffic control signs on 12th and 16th Ave, I have to go from Main street and navigate through the local traffic streets.

I'm so happy, finally a great Taco in the hood ... that is if this is THE Chilo. ← Yup, it is the same one. The address is 1351 Richards.

Fatburger on Beatty and Dunsmuir is open. I have to stop by to see if they are sharing the kitchen with Ricky's.

We had a great dinner at West Restaurant on Saturday night. Our first courses were the mosaic of chicken and foie gras and the endive salad. Next, we had the pork belly and sablefish for our entrees. They were both excellently prepared. However, we were not able to have our desserts because the power went out in the area, so the restaurant was unable to prepare them. West was kind enough to offer all of the dinners on the house to everyone in the restaurant. Wow! What ticked me off is that some of the diners did not leave a tip for the servers. There was one table that was lucky to finish all three courses but left nothing on the table. Just because the restaurant will be comping the entire meal does not mean that the servers will be tipped by the restaurant also.

Eagrely anticipating the release of the restaurants participating this year. Restaurants i would love to check out but not sure if they are participating in DOV... 1.) Fuel 2.) RCB (Connor Butler) 3.) West 4.) Rare 5.) Lucky Diner I am not making any resolutions of trying to lose weight in January, not until Dine Out is over. ← 1.) Fuel is not on the list, but Gastropod is. 2.) RCB (Connor Butler) is not on the list 3.) West is on the list 4.) Rare is on the list 5.) Lucky Diner is not on the list, but LK Dining is. The list and menus are viewable on the Tourism Vancouver site, but you have to do some modifications to your browser security settngs.

Does anyone know where I can find oyster crackers in the Lower Mainland? -
Shiro's is back up and running!

If you like Illy coffee, you can try Provence Marinaside or at Don't show the Elephant.

Don't knock Cuban-Chinese food. Many Chinese immigrants settled in Latin America during the 1800's because of the Chinese Exclusion Act. If you ever find yourself in Manhattan, you have to try La Caridad 78 for the Cuban-Chinese.
-
You can try Havana Restaurant on Commercial Drive for some good cuban food: http://www.havana-art.com/ On another note, I have yet to find a good cuban sandwich in Vancouver.

With this thread, I guess we all don't have anything better to do than to play on this site, as commented by Chef Feenie on CKNW this morning.

Anthony was on the Bill Good Show on CKNW this morning. You will need a signup at CKNW to listen to the audio vault on Monday June 12, 11:00AM.

There are also signs up for the Red Burrito across from the Steam Rollers on West Broadway.

You can get them at most Italian grocery stores. I often go to La Grotta Del Formaggio on Commercial Drive to buy them.

Is it Dinnerworks? It is around that area, but on Third. http://www.dinnerworks.com/
