  1. $825 on layaway -- $100 a month.

[KA KSS] lives with Aunt Laura [KA K-5A] lives with my friend Bay [KA K-5A] lives with church cooking class [KA K-5A] lives with church cooking class [KA K] lives with church cooking class [KA 3-B] lives with church cooking class [KA 4-B] lives with church cooking class [KA 4-B] lives with my friend Joyce [KA 3-B] lives with my Aunt Phyllis [Hobart N-50] lives with my Aunt Phyllis This Hobart C-100 will live with another Church kitchen, not the same church as the cooking class.
  3. Yep, How did you know I bought it on Ebay?
  4. Yes, I have finally decided! No more mixer purchases for me! I have just completed negotiations on this little baby, which gives me a grand total of 14 mixers .... [after I pay off my layaway]. I think it is the Ultimate Stand Mixer. 10qt bowl uses all vintage or new Kitchenaid hub attachments and legendary Hobart quality! I will put an engraved plaque [loaned in memory of my mom] on it , and loan it to my church's kitchen. What do you think of my new baby ....... a Hobart C-100?
  5. You know Emily, I like this one better! http://www.plumbersurplus.com/Prod/T-S-Bra...t/58231/Cat/509 And it is a lot cheaper to boot!
  6. Thanks Emily! The internet place I found it on lists it for $520! But I bet we can find it elsewhere a lot cheaper. It is: "American Deck Mount Kitchen Faucet, 8" on center, Pot Filler spout, cross handles. Quarter turn ceramic valves. Also available in Supercoat Brass, Polished Nickel, and Matte Nickel."
  7. They may not have what you need in the store, but talk to the owners and not the help. Jerry and Rodney will put your wants on a list, and when they find it they will let you know. They are great at that, so stay in touch with them.
  8. I was helping a relative's church clean up their new/old church building this morning and guess what I got? They gave me a vintage 6 foot long white enameled cast iron double sink in pristine condition and with drainers on each side! It looks a lot like this one, but mine is like brand new. Won't that be great with my vintage chrome Kitchenaid model G mixers [see my avatar] and my vintage range? It reminds me of a similar one bowl sink my mom had when I was growing up. The church was going to throw it away! It is from the 1940's and has absolutely no stains or chips and looks brand new. The faucet and sprayer was included, and the church is going to move it to my storage unit next Sunday morning! This sink is going to be great in my vintage style kitchen one day. I have been looking for something like it for a long time and was prepared to spend big bucks for it. The ones I have seen on Ebay go for $300 and up! Who would have guessed that I would be blessed with a gift like this just for giving them a helping hand? I am gonna get one of the pot filler vintage style faucets to go into it. Just imagine this type of sink with this faucet. Will this one work?
  9. I have been shopping in a restaurant supply store for many years. I have bought tons of Vollrath cookware, utensils, bowls, and their best quality flatware, etc. for pennies on the dollar; Dexter Russell utensils, Thorpe professional rolling pins, a used Robot Coupe R2 complete with everything [$50], and so many other things it boogles the mind. The big one was a vintage maple 36 by 36 maple butcher block table they bought especially for me. I equipped 3 or 4 church kitchens with their equipment and cookware at bargain prices they gave me to help the churches. I made friends with the owners and they gave me a 15 inch diameter cast iron fry pan for Christmas! They ordered it with me in mind and it was a lovely sweet surprise. I was overwhelmed by their kindness. And yes, we are still friends, and I am proud of their success. 10. Gates BBQ sauce, or in a pinch KC Masterpiece.
  11. I too have bought lots of the old square base Cuisinarts used and gifted them to friends, church kitchens, etc.! They are real fine machines and I like them for their many different accessory disks and other attachments. But for real heavy duty power, I adore the used commercial Robot Coupe food processors I bought second hand. I don't know of a better food processor than these!
  12. There IS a KA cult; some of its members actually list all their collection of machines when they post in the KA forums! ← Oh, Oh! I didn't know I had joined a cult! I am leoladysw on the KA forum....... Maybe soon they will ask me to to drink koolaid, and go to the great beyond with Jim and his friends.......
  13. I have arthritis in both hands and I love the Oxo utensils. I have many of them and they make my life so much easier.
  14. I use my collection of vintage carbon steel Sabatier knives, which I store in a retail store display Sabatier case I found on Ebay. Sorry for the horrible photo, but I can't take a good photo to save my life
  15. There is no such creature as a bowl lift/tilt head mixer. Sorry.
  16. "If all else fails, I can drag out my old KA Model G, which still has plenty of oomph in spite of being 80-years-old! (Although I will have to get someone to lift it onto a heavy-duty cart because it weighs considerably more than modern home mixers.)" The KA Model G is a great powerful mixer! I just love mine! "A last thought, I often see baby real Hobarts used in restaurant supply stores." The Hobart N-50 is the little engine that could! It thinks it can, and then does everything with ease.
  17. I like vintage carbon steel Sabatier knives.
  18. Santa Baby, Please finish paying for my vintage double oven, double broiler, 6 burner range! Thanks!
  19. Not yet, but I will! I can't wait!
  20. Here is the website for vintage ranges: http://www.classicranges.com/contact.html Thanks everybody! I went out on a financial limb, but I had to have this range. Although it was expensive for me, it was a lot less than I should have had to pay. I just got lucky. I also should tell you that the sale was facilitated by www.consciousconsignment .com . They are the ones who handle Johnny's auction listings on Ebay. And...... There is a great sleek black range exactly like mine available! http://cgi.ebay.com/CROWN-GAS-DOUBLE-OVEN-...8QQcmdZViewItem
  21. I am so thrilled cause I just purchased a new/vintage completely renovated Crown gas range! I have wanted one for so many years. It has 6 burners, 2 ovens, and 2 broilers! I am doing a happy dance!
  22. There is no other source for new copper bowls for a KA that I know of. The Bridge Kitchenware 5qt bowl like in my photo has been discontinued. The Atlas or Old Dutch 5qt and 4 1/2 qt bowl liners haven't been made for several years. They go from $80 up to 130 on Ebay.
  23. Congrats on the copper kitchenaid! I am so glad you bought a 6qt KA! Now you can give some great feedback to the forum on your actual experience with a K5A and your new model. Like, which mixer does what better. I am really interested in hearing your thoughts on the two mixers. I am sure your comparisons will be worth waiting for.
  24. Thanks andi! Since you are the hostess with the mostest, if you admire something I have I know I am really on target! No, that wasn't the source of my 2nd KA G. I watched this one too. But I remember when the seller bought this mixer [she is on 2 forums I frequent and we have "talked" via email], and the finish was great in places, but real bad in others with rust. Mine has an all over pin mark finish, but no rust. I also "know" the seller of mine from three forums we are both members of, and email contact for over a year before I bought anything from him. He went over my mixer with a fine tooth comb, and insured it is in excellent mechanical condition -- new grease and fuse included. My seller also packed a vintage mixer as it should always be packed. The mixer was in a box just large enough for it and tons of bubble wrap taped down carefully. Then, this box was put into a wood crate surrounded by bagged foam popcorn. Finally, this crate was boxed with a real heavy cardboard box. It took me an hour and a lot of sweat to unearth this carefully packed mixer from its cushioned cocoon!
