  1. damn! I can't even comment to everyone as there are so many great looking dishes!!! Elie, I've been wanting to make rice balls for a while, do you use a certain recipe? Thursday night we cooked a whole salmon in salt. served it with israeli cous cous and chanterelles grilled and pan fried with wild greens and onions. this weekend we went camping, husband was in charge of planning dinners. We made veal scallopine with grilled walla walla sweets the first night (actually very good and simple done over a campfire!) and steaks rubbed with rosemary, grilled corn and pan fried potatoes the next.
  2. I don't refrigerate hard boiled eggs, tomatoes (kills the flavor!), worcheshire, soy, etc sauces. I also really question what we fridge and what we don't every time I visit my girlfriend who lives in Paris- they call it a jam cupboard for a reason right? edited to add that we use a butter bell and also change the water every couple of days otherwise there is mold.
  3. Jason, Dayne loves gin so we will get a gin milkshake for sure!! thanks for the tip. I'm pretty sure that Ugleisch's closed a few months ago. The family wanted to retire I read. Hope the city and people stay safe during this huge hurricane!!! eek!

  10. Hi all, we are heading to Hurricane Ridge this weekend and are wondering if there is any place especially good to stop at on the way home sunday for lunch? We'll be taking the ferry over from Edmonds and heading through Port Angeles. Then next weekend we are staying at the Inn at Langley and before we head home wondered about good/interesting places to maybe check out on Whidbey. Thanks!
  11. Your pictures brought back my memories of eating lunch at Lipp with my good friend who lives in Paris. We sat in the same area (back of the house right?) and I loved watching the waiters make tartare on that island station!! Thank you for posting!

  15. Picnic last Friday night. We brought melon cubes wrapped in proscuitto. Also Shrimp rolls. Think lobster rolls from Maine only with shrimp. toasted the hotdog buns earlier and let them cool. then brought the shrimp salad mixed and filled the rolls at the scene. Excellent. Others brought thai chicken skewers, fritata and little sandwiches. treats from a kick ass local bakery were served for dessert. YUM!
