Second Nell's, you may also want to try Union, they are open until 11pm and the menu can be pretty flexible for vegetarians. Rocky

Seattle restaurant wholesale?

Try out Seattle Restaurant Supply on Aurora, they have a good size used section. Give e-Bay a try also. I'm always pleasantly surprised at what I can find. Rocky -
What's a good liquor store in Seattle?
rockdoggydog replied to a topic in Pacific Northwest & Alaska: Dining
If you go to your local liquor store and they don't have what you want, they will usually offer to look it up in their inventory system and let you know which stores have what you need and call ahead and hold it for you. But other than that, yeah get thee downtown. I hope that Costco's antitrust case against the state succeeds, I know it's focused on wine but I can't wait to see what happens if Costco gets into the liquor biz and has a liquor section as good as it's wine section. Need your opinion on a seafood resturant..
rockdoggydog replied to a topic in Pacific Northwest & Alaska: Dining
How about sushi? It's good seafood but not traditional seafood. Sanmi Sushi in Magnolia next to Palisades has beautiful views and pretty good sushi with some really excellent fresh selections each day. Rocky P.S. Palisades isn't bad either come to think of it, it's not the best seafood but good, and the views rival Salty's. -

I'm a fan of Bandoleone for casual drinks and anyplace that can serve a decent French 75 in the summer. Rocky -

I like the Elysian's food but I am always left at a loss by the service. It's like I'm imposing on their day every time I go. Rocky -

Thanks Laurel, if you happen to do two seatings I'm flexible either way. Rocky -
What's your feeling on Kaiten Sushi (conveyor belt sushi)? I find it fun and have enjoyed it in the past but find myself lowering my expectation whenever I go to one. I was pleasantly surprised at Blue C in Fremont recently but realized that it was because I'd gone in reminding myself that it was a Kaiten Sushi place. Anyone have any favorites? Any people who love or hate Kaiten Sushi? Rocky

I love City Kitchens and Seattle Reaturant Supply, I also find myself buying many items of of Amazon.com, some really incredible fell off the back of the truck type prices sometimes. Picked up a ten piece set of Anolon ware at 80% off once. Rocky

Renee Erickson the chef/owner at Boat Street Kitchen recently started doing box lunches out of Sophie's Doughnuts on Eastlake. It's kind of a stop gap until they finally find the spot that is right for them. Apparently they've had a hard time find a spot, they had found one but the landlord wanted a percentage of the gross in addition to rent, yowza! I ordered my first ones on Thursday for pickup Friday, there are some available for walk in customers but they prefer you to order ahead. They have the poached chicken and basil, a dry salami sandwich, egg and olive salad, artichoke salad, and a few others I'm forgetting. They also have some entree salads in additon to the sandwiches. The sandwiches are still wonderful and have me jonesing for more Boat Street Cafe food. Rocky

My favorite wineries have been Coleman, Elk Cove, Witness Tree, Ponzi, and ADEA. You really have to stop the Fresh Palate Cafe between McMinnville and Sheridan, oh so good, and the bonus is there is a well stocked tasting room there as well as a nice gallery. rocky
