    Very best I've ever had --- difficult. One of the best, and ALWAYS consistent, Opus in Toronto. Tony, Mario & Tanya know what they're doing. Highly recommended if you're in the area.....

    Monday dinner (quick & easy) Homemade thin-crust pizza Hot Italian sausage, carmelized red onions, roasted red pepper, spinach & goat cheese.
  3. Full agreement on the jello and salad combination -- an abomination if there ever was one. As for the "canned" yams -- no really, canned?? In this day and age? Fresh are always available at the holidays, even in the UK -- and usually cheaper!
  4. First day on the site -- I love it guys! Couldn't resist the invitation... EVOO Garlic Aborio rice Pasta Onion/Shallots Celery Carrots Dijon Stock Vinegars (at least 4) Wine (for both the dish, and the chef!) Lemons/Limes canned tomatos Coffee Maple Syrup Roasted Red Peppers Chipotles in Adobo Dried/fresh chiles Can make almost anything with these staples in the house.

    Sunday night: Butternut squash agnolotti in a cream sauce Mixed greens with Dijon vinaigrette WINE (been looking forward to this part all afternoon!)

  7. Oh yeah, mincemeat! The bane of my childhood! As a child we used to eat only the brandy sauce for the Christmas pudding.....
  8. Hi everyone -- Egg nog is the worst in my opinion. The prepared stuff you buy is bad, but the worst was being served home-made egg nog at a colleagues Christmas party. Egg nog was made, of course, with raw eggs and apparently not chilled properly......one way to insure people never come back, poison them all! I have not been able to touch the stuff since!
