Yes, but Cavendish fries have been on sale 🙂

Continuing with the Ninja Foodie Air Fry Oven: Beef and Mushroom Meatloaf - I added shredded cheese and No Added Sugar BBQ Sauce: Air Bake @400F for 25 minutes. I used the broil function to brown the cheese on top. Last night was Lamb Chops with Mint Parsley Pesto. I cooked them for 10 minutes instead of the 7 @400F as the chops were thick. They turned out beautifully - tender and juicy. Tater tots were cooked first, in air fryer basket.

Yes it is! And it's cheaper than Amazon, which is 234.98. I got mine 2 weeks earlier when it was 17% off = 199.98.

I did six 1.5" thick chops @400F for 5 minutes, flipped then another 5 minutes. They weren't quite "done to our specs" with what the recipe suggested: 2 more minutes after the flip. I ordered THIS book only because it is for the Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fryer Oven. No pretty pictures but lots of recipes from appetizers to desserts to dehydrating. I got it mainly because I was craving rhubarb pie and my oven had died. N o new replacement built in until possibly end of June! Apparently there is a newer version available - both my oven and book are from Amazon.ca. I liked the oven so much after my success with the pie that I had one sent out to my son and family, who just moved to NFLD from Manitoba!

I didn't have frozen fries but I did have frozen tater tots for supper last night. Spread a layer onto the fry basket and air-fry @400F for 15 minutes with a stir half way thru. They were crispy. If I wanted them darker, I would spritz with oil. I will have to pick up some fries and try them out. Have been looking thru' the cookbook I got and may try a dessert sometime soon. Kind of nice not heating up the kitchen, and there was no smoke when I did the lamb chops on air fry! The chops were brushed with oil oil and rubbed with salt, chopped fresh rosemary and thyme. First time having lamb with pesto: parsley, mint, garlic, Parmesan cheese, pistachios, lemon juice. Quite good for a change from mint sauce.

Of course there is a topic for Air Fryers! Thanks for pointing this out, @Anna N

Gardening is in full swing now that temperatures are more spring like! Quick and easy meals are on order: Meat cut from chicken thighs stir-fried with Toban sauce and assortment of veg from the crisper and cans. Sous vide pork loin roast. Meat juice in the bag made great gravy with liberal grinds of peppercorns! Leftover pork was great for salad at lunch. Thai Coconut Curry Lamb in the Ninja Foodie, with re-heated Naan from the freezer No built-in oven replacement until end of June. Rhubarb was so fresh and abundant right now, so I caved and bought a Ninja Air Fry Oven! It flips up against the backsplash when not in use, to clear work space, but I have an under-the-counter light fixture, so I have to be very careful with flipping it up. Maybe once I finish playing with this new item! The initiation was warming up the naan bread. It worked! My main push to make this purchase was for rhubarb pie! The Air Bake worked! I also ordered a cookbook for this unit. No pictures, which I miss, but loads of recipes. Last night, I tried Chicken Thighs with Radish Slaw. Turned out great and did not heat up the kitchen! I didn't have green cabbage but I had Napa and red radishes. Seasoned with Kosher salt, pepper, olive oil, and red wine vinegar. The slaw was laid onto the pan after the chicken finished cooking, stirred up in the chicken juices, and roasted with the chicken on top. The chicken was seasoned with Smoked Paprika, oregano, garlic granules, and the skin was crispy and delicious! I thought the cooked slaw was strange but it turned out great - just a bit of tang. So far, I am happy with the new purchase. Hubby said I can cancel the built-in oven now. 🤪

Interesting with the rhubarb. It is just coming in season. Was the salmon and rhubarb grilled in foil? Please give more info on the after texture. Worked in the garden most of the day, hauling dirt, pots, plants. Was pretty beat and was really debating whether to go for A & W or cook supper. I had baby pickerel fillets thawed, so opted for home-cooked meal: Pan-fried Creole seasoned Panko coated fillets, sweet potato in pressure cooker, and stir-fried veg. Happy I cooked!

@ShelbyAmazing meals every time! I get shisito peppers from a gardening friend when they come in. I love them. Have never seen them in the stores here. Mustard greens, collards, and turnip greens are also something I never see here, and I love them all . Haven't been across the border for over 2 years. That's when I get my feed of all the greens. It's fighting with the crazy weather lately - unbelievable winds, rain, and night time temps hitting the 0C range. Some meals have been A & W burgers or Domino's Pizza ( I am hopeless making my own!) I did do up a couple of meals. With Chinese sausage, cured pork belly, salted duck eggs, all cooked with Jasmine rice. Stir-fried some Shanghai bok choy - gotta have my veg! Put in some stirring time and put together Saffron Risotto with Shrimp and Peas. Split a DQ Tropical Blizzard for dessert!

Hot and Spicy is our go to, especially with scrambled eggs and chips.

Poor judgement on my part - tried a prime rib roast in the Ninja Foodie air fryer. Should NOT have been lazy and pulled out the food saver and do sous vide then finish off on BBQ (still no new oven!) Roast looked good, but cooking was uneven, and meat was not tender! Had a small meal, then tucked the rest into the fridge. Quick Butter Chicken with a jar of KFI sauce. Eaten with brown basmati rice and cardamom carrots Decided I'd better use up the leftover prime rib. Cut the meat up and made stew in the pressure cooker. Was good but what a waste of a good piece of beef! Good things it was on sale with a $10.00 off sticker!

I still shudder when I remember my grandfather's favourite dish: silk worms steamed in a savoury egg custard...😜

Moo Gua from my s-i-l's 2021 garden! These keep well wrapped in newspapers in a cool basement. I did a slow simmer with prok bones, re-hydrated dried oysters, ginger and tangerine peel. Mom always cook this combo with the peel on the melon. Said it's good for health;-) Soup earlier, followed by Shake 'n' Bake BBQ Chicken in the air dryer Brother had ice packed a dozen bison strip loin steaks and a dozen pickerel fillets. Not understanding procedure, they tried top take the box as carry-on in the plane to Vancouver instead of cargo. Too late to change, so I had to go and pick the box up and put back into their freezer. We got some of the steaks! Quick BBQ last night. Had picked up a bundle of white asparagus at the store. Should have realized they would be tasteless, and they were 😞 Steaks were good tho'!

OMG! "Who could ask for anything more"!

Single rib prime, sous vide @132F for 4.5 hours, and finished off on the BBQ. Green peppercorn gravy, etc Comfort food: Steamed chicken with Shitaki mushrooms and Chinese sausage. Sauteed Shanghai bok choy and rice. Love the rice mixed with the meat juice!

So many variations! When we have Muslim guests, I make congee with pickerel and lots of ginger. Sometimes, I make it thinner, but usually, it is fairly thick so the add-ons stay on top.

Sous vide pork ribs with char siu sauce then finished off on the BBQ. Hubby has dental work in progress day after the ribs, so softer foods for a couple of meals Chicken Congee with the works for him, and Hot 'n' Sour for me. Made a big pot so he could have some another day. A family favourite from hubby's Nana: Rice omelette with cheddar cheese sauce Pickerel Fish 'n' Chips with curry gravy

Had another medical trip to Winnipeg, so meals from Cibo Waterfront Safe next to the hotel. I really enjoy the Fried Chicken Club in brioche bun along with Greek salad. Hubby had the double cured pepperoni pizza on garlic crust Shake and Bake BBQ chicken legs in the air fryer Picked up lovely lamb chops on sale at Safeway: Grilled on stove top The Big Easy came into service as we still don't have an oven (not until end of June!). Wanted roast chicken, and the rain has stopped for the day! No fresh pappardell, but I did finally find dried ones at Superstore. Made Bolognese sauce and had it simmering while I finally got to play out in the dirt!

Small chunks of beef rib eye and a whole bunch of broccoli that needed to be eaten = stir-fy Augmented by a can of Spicy Deep Fried Dace and Salted Black Beans and Jasmine rice Pan-fried Breaded Pickerel Fillets, peas, and Cavendish fries in the air fryer. Mango Chili sauce on the pickerel

Might call this my East Meets West dinner: Canadianized Breaded Sweet & Sour Spareribs which was on our restaurant menu as #13. The ribs are seasoned, egg wash, breaded with soda cracker meal, deep fried, then simmered in water, vinegar, sugar, and ketsup! Deep fried is #17 or as appetizer. Hard to keep fingers out of that pile! In progress After simmer and thickened with cornstarch slurry Traditional Chinese Stir-fried Fun See (mung bean thread) with Chinese sausage, dried shrimp, and Napa cabbage

A real contrast in taste for supper tonight. Mad soup with Hairy Squash and Lily Bulbs - lovey sweetness - but not the candy sweet. Light and refreshing Main dish was Beef & Bitter Melon in Black Bean Garlic Sauce - eaten with Jamine rice.

My 1982 GE oven died😞 It served the previous owners and me (from 1992) well, but did it REALLY have to quit when replacements are hard to access?! It's a wall unit and limited space. I have ordered a 27" which will JUST fit in with a slight modification of 3/16" on either side of the cabinet. BUT, it won't be available until end of June! Happy that the ice and snow are gone from the yard, and I can access the BBQ, The Big Easy, and have my Ninja Foodie if I needed an oven. A couple of pieces of rib eye grilled on stove with pan-fried previously "bake in IP" taters. Picked up soft instead of med. firm tofu, so had to pan fry the tofu and cooked spicy ground pork and eggplant in Toban sauce separately. Tossed in a handful of fresh mint leaves - lovely! Absentmindedly pulled out beef kidneys, a Sterling Silver blade roast, and puff pastry thinking of Steak and Kidney pie. DUH! No oven. Got the filling done up and thought to just have stew, but I really wanted the puff pastry topper! Googled and was able to use the air fryer to cook up pieces of the pastry.

Been away to the city where hubby had surgery. He stayed in the hospital for 3 days while I stayed in a boutique hotel along the river nearby. I was happy to have a lovely restaurant just a few steps away. Ordered a couple of items and a Greek salad for lunch each day, and it did me for lunch and supper. Good to have the fridge and microwave. After hubby was discharged, we moved over to our daughter's house, and they cooked! Finally got home after a week only to discover my oven went kaput. Luckily, I had meals planned that didn't need the oven! Brought home BBQ duck, cheung fun, and ho fun, which made meal prep easy as I am still helping hubby navigate around the house due to his incision. On the evening we got home from the city after the 2.5 hour drive: BBQ Duck over Cheung Fun with Pea Tips. Next evening was Spicy Shrimp, Ho Fun, and Gai Lan Deconstructed Chicken Fajita and steamed green beans for another meal, then Pork Chops with Mushroom Gravy was on the menu last night Today, I had a bit more time free from "home care" duties, so I made Chicken, Shrimp, and Sausage Gumbo
