  1. I miss having a good Hotpot. We used to have Hot pots a lot in Singapore where it is known as "steam boat". Basically, there is a broth and then you chuck everything into the hot pot. The resulting broth can be really tasty, with fish, prawns, veggies in them. The Taiwanese also have a spicy version of Hotpot which can be a bit too spicy! ok, we're going to lunch at Sichuanese Cuisine today. :) Been a while since we last went there and all this talk is making me drool . . . :) That spicy beef fried noodles is excellent!
  2. What are some good places in the Seattle area for breakfast/brunch? An area in downtown Seattle would be preferable. Some people mentioned: Cafe Campagne Macrina Thanks!
  3. The Duck Confit sounds good and I really like the sound of the Brunch menu too. Ahh . . . so many new restaurants and so little time/resources. :)
  4. I cant wait for Sunday night!!
  5. Has anyone been to Rippe's Steakhouse on the waterfront? They have a "coffee flavored steak" http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/01/12/offbeat.s...reut/index.html Not sure about having beef right now in WA state. :)
  6. Do you know if they take reservations? Plan to go there on Sat at about 7pm, but I imagine that would be quite a wait . . .
  7. Is the sushi place Mashiko in West Seattle any good? Thinking about going there. Their website is www.sushiwhore.com Thanks!
  8. There's also an African or Ethiopian restaurant near the Pike Market, on 1st Ave. It is next to the Bagel place, i think. The food there is quite decent and the spongy bread isnt tasteless from what i recall. Service is slow though.
  9. Sigh, today is the last day for the 25 for 25 promotion . . . Went back to 727 Pine for their Kobe Beef lunch and it was amazingly good again. This time the beef portions were much larger as it is the last day and probably trying to finish off all the beef. Unfortunately, it is not one of the regular menu items. That Cinnamon parfait dessert is awesome! Very rich though and need to go to the gym soon :)
  10. What does Fugu taste like and how is it served? Thanks
  11. Is the Valrhona (?) warm chocolate cake part of the dessert choices? I love that chocolate cake. The curried mussels are also very good. On a sidenote, Brasa has a very good bar menu which has half-price food from 5 to 7pm, I think.
  12. I'll join you guys for lunch at Earth and Ocean on the 20th! Let me know when, where, how to meet up as this is my first time :) Brasa has some excellent food!! The paella, brouillabaise, mussels and grilled shrimp are sooo good. I also love the Valrona warm chocolate cake. . . yummy! Their waitstaff can be really aloof and stuck up though.
