Yes, it was delicious! My husband brought it home from the farmer's market. We are lucky to have access to really good local fish. This particular company sells their fish with a QR code on the package that gives you information about the fish you are buying. You can get the fisherman's name, the name of the boat, the catch method, where it is caught etc. They sell at farmer's markets around the city as well as the Boston Public Market. It's good stuff. https://www.redsbest.com/redsbest/

Sunday family dinner Fried chicken Mac and cheese from Cook's Country magazine--very creamy Cornbread made with masa marina and maple syrup Garden tomatoes

Wednesday we had chicken-tomatillo tacos. I was mad when the tortillas defrosted and they turned out to be flour instead of the corn ones I was expecting. Annoying! Last night we had penne with roasted cherry tomato-arugula sauce. I think my tomato plants are almost done for the year.

Here's my shrimp creole. I thought it was a touch too salty. The sauce was fine, but I think once I combined it with the shrimp that had been tossed in additional creole seasoning before sautéing the salt level got a bit too high. It might have been the creole seasoning I used (Zatarain's). Here's the recipe I believe both @Norm Matthews and I used https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/shrimp-creole I really, really hate green bell peppers, so I used a red bell pepper in mine, but otherwise followed the recipe with an added scallion garnish.

Did you like it? I am having it for dinner tonight! We must both subscribe to Food and Wine 🙂 I hope it was good--I made the sauce last night so there's no going back now.

Provincetown, the "Outer Cape," and Wellfleet Too

final installment for this visit. Dealing with the hotspot got tedious and we ended up just not going online for most of the week. It was nice. One day we went to Provincetown for a whale watch. We saw 19 different humpbacks and one fin whale. It's usually the other way around. Here are a couple of pictures Afterwards we went to Mac's Fish House. Sashimi: striped bass, toro, and yellowtail toro scallop crudo seveche jalepeno yellowtail with ponzu sushi smorgasbord and for the two non-sushi eaters, bouillabaise and striped bass malva pudding for dessert for my niece Another day we went to the Pearl. Steamers Banging shrimp The "mighty codwich". Half of this went home for another meal Shrimp caesar salad Warm lobster roll Shrimp tacos The rest of the time we cooked at the house, but I guess those photos are not appropriate here. This was our view/beach. The house was two miles into National Park land on a one-lane dirt road. Our car is badly scratched, but it was worth it. Until next time...- 789 replies

Hello from Wellfleet. The house does not have wifi but I do have a cell signal on my network so can use my phone as a hotspot. I have not been taking photos everywhere we have eaten so far because we have been doing a lot of repeats, but here are a few breakfasts. My nephew is heading back to college today and so I have been letting him choose where to eat, and he loves breakfast. We were in Eastham for a few days before moving to the house last night. Fairway cheddar-scallion waffle with over easy eggs cranberry pancakes The other day we tried a new place, Brine. Brine benedict Huevos rancheros Belgian waffle with fruit and a sunset- 789 replies

I'll do my best to share, but I'm not sure that there is wifi at the house we are renting. It's in a holding within the National Park and most of the Park has no coverage. I'll post some stuff from my phone when we are in town. If I am wrong about the connectivity, I'll post daily. I actually hope I am wrong because my niece and nephew will be mad if they are cut off from the "real world" for a week :-) -
I have one and really like it. It gets very hot. Makes good stir fries, and cleaning it is easy too. Last night, bucatini with clam sauce

Is that a tomato tart satin? Whatever it is, I'd eat it! 🙂 Sometimes I just want a BLT for dinner. Tomato from my garden. I'm losing the lower tomatoes to chipmunks that tunnel underground and come up inside the fencing, but luckily my vines grew nice and tall so there's still some for me.

tonkatsu style chicken, rice, and a new smashed cucumber salad recipe that came in a newsletter from my local paper. Pretty good but I like the recipe I usually use from the New York Times better

Safe travels home. I always enjoy reading your annual Mantoulin blog and hope that you get to return next year, somehow.

Penzeys is offering another deal: 1/4 cup jars of aleppo pepper and Mitchell Street seasoning for $2 each, plus free 1/2 cup jars of their cinnamon sugar and granulated air-dried shallots, and a "kind heart" pin if you spend $5. While adding items to my cart I got a pop up saying that since I spent $50 they were adding in a free 1/4 cup jar of the aleppo pepper and Mitchel Street seasoning. Shipping is free if you spend $30.
