Mendocino Area Wineries

We're taking a rather spur of the moment trip up to Mendocino tomorrow and would like to visit some wineries...

Definately on the list is:

Navarro

&

Fife

On previous visits we've been to Husch, Roederer, Edmeades...

Any other favorites or suggestions?

Wine quality and distinctivness trumps wine type for us since we like many different varietals.

Thanks--we'll report back on what we taste also...

Just visited Esterlina Vineyards last week...great wines, beautiful views, and Patty in the tasting room was fantastic! Also went to Lazy Creek Vineyards a few years ago and had a nice time. Both wineries are VERY small, so make sure to call first.

Enjoy!

The Lazy Creek Gewurztraminer is the best domestic gewurz I've tried. LOVE it! I suspect that you will too.

Navarro is also an excellent choice and their entire line of wines is fantastic. Husch as well.

I'm jealous! Have fun!

Fetzer is worth stopping at just to see the gardens. Haven't had their wine for a while. Their in Hopland.

Navarro is also an excellent choice ...

Make sure you get some of their Gewurztraminer grape juice while you are there.

I drink a bit of that juice in sparkling water. Amazing stuff. Way better than those High Fructose Corn Syrup laden poisons we call Soda.
