Palm sugar and the woven basket you buy it in. This is from Cambodia (not China, but they're close :)) Okay, the basket is a tourist thing, but the sugar is amazing. I wish I had more.

How cool to see a polar bear (sorry). I totally agree with your travel sentiments, lukewarm soup notwithstanding. Thanks for the ride @BonVivant.

Looks fantastic. Ford or Holden ?

They're just beef mince pies in a gravy. Ubiquitous here at kids parties (ok, and adults) hence the name party pies.

Chicken wings in a red sauce with casarecce pasta. The wings are cooked in a sauce made with diced onion, lots of garlic, chilli flakes, stock and a can of tomatoes. Served with a green salad and toasted sourdough.

They're also called pork scotch fillet, but are actually just slices of neck. These were so tender ! I too love the different words that people use to describe unfamiliar (to me) ingredients. Can't imagine life without Google

The banana peppers are really good stuffed with a spicy pork mince mixture and baked.

Braised pork belly with a stir fry of broccolini, snow peas and red onion, steamed rice and a few pickled zucchini. The pork was simmered in water, soy and oyster sauce, five spice, crushed garlic, sliced ginger and chilli. Remove the pork, boil to reduce sauce, and finish with spring onions. A new favourite, the meat was gelatinous and luscious.

Oh dear, hornets nest stirred here. There is a difference between Australia and New Zealand ya know. I'd have fried potatoes any way they come as long as there's salt to go with

I'm going to try this too. I have a mountain of dill, mint and soon parsley will be huge. Thanks !

I butterflied a chook and marinated it with lemon zest and juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, sumac and cayenne. Halved cherry tomatoes were added half way through. Served with roasted potatoes, carrots and shallots, plus wilted garlic greens. A sauce was made with pan juices, mashed tomatoes, the greens cooking water and a spoon of yogurt.

I had lunch at home with guests yesterday, and attended a hens night later. There was a fine spread of food, which I ignored in favour of this homemade baklava. I had four pieces, bad me, delicious dinner though.
