  7. Josh--How is the wine list?
  8. One of my favorite dishes at An American Grill is the pan seared seven spice ahi tuna served with baby arugula, caramelized onions and roasted peppers with a ginger-lime aioli sauce.

The menu is not like China 46 or Hunan Cottage but seems different enough than the neighborhood Chinese restaurants.

Curlz--I actually love oatmeal but never take the time to make it. However, it always tastes creamier in a diner. Tried the expensive Irish oats once but went back to Quaker.

Drinking left over white and red wine. Lowell has pneumonia and is on tea, chicken broth and tea and chicken broth. Snow is over my head!!! Dinner tonight is left over turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and cauliflower. BORING.
  14. Lou--Can you post the links to: The review in the Daily Record and the Morris Life & Health feature? Congratulations.

As I said the dishes were pre-ordered and although very good I really didn't feel that I could tell you much about the place other than the dishes were tasty enough for me to return to this restaurant and try the dishes that I would find more interesting.
  17. "Soon, in collaboration with a restaurant in Montclair, I will have a four or five course degustation evening, probably once a week. " Do keep us informed. If you want to cater in the Montclair area one suggestion would be to put an ad in the Montclair Times.

How about breakfast. Did you cook anything different? Are you snowed in? We have lots of snow here and they haven't plowed the driveways yet. Had oatmeal for breakfast which is a once a year event.

Of course on video. What other choices are there? Anyway--I made a boring turkey breast for dinner.

Hmmm. I'm sure I'll leave out some as I didn't take notes. Off the top of my head we had vegetable and meat dumplings; squid; seafood soup; shrimp toast;dry sauteed string beans; sesame chicken; lo mein; chicken with fresh mango; and birthday cake. I'm sure I forgot some dishes.
  22. Can I meet your friends!!!

We were suppose to go to Epernay in Montclair tonight and had to cancel. I am so sad as short ribs were the plat du jour. Tomorrow we have reservations at Fat Kat, a new restaurant, and I don't think we are going to make it either. I was at the supermarket at 8 Am and the place was a zoo. Then went to the library to get some tapes. Watched 6 hours of Six Feet Under this PM. To make a ham cup I imagine you put a slice of ham into a muffin tin and cook it until it is stiff!
  24. I had the following on Table Hopping With Rosie 11/26. I've never tasted the champagne being served or the Chateau d Yquem, 1996 but wonder how many people would be willing to pay $295 per person plus tax and gratuity for this dinner. Kim, please be sure to give us a report. "On December 13, a "Krug’s" wine maker's dinner featuring Krug Champagne, Chateau Cheval Blanc and Chateau d’Yquem with Kurt Eckert will be held at Rat's, 16 Fairgrounds Road, Hamilton. The following menu will be served: Welcome reception ( Krug Grand Cuvee) Game consomme with foie gras custard (Krug, Grand Cuvee) Warm oysters with lemongrass sabayon (Krug, Vintage 1988) Steamed Turbot with cucumbers and a fines herbes sauce (Krug, Vintage, 1989) Grapefruit and Campari granite Venison chops with parsnip rosti, Brussels sprouts, and Grand Veneur sauce (Chateau Cheval Blanc, 1995) Putney tomme cheese with chestnuts and endive Pithivier of pears and rosemary (Chateau d Yquem, 1996) 6 PM; $295 per person plus tax and gratuity. For reservations call 609-584-7800."
