  1. I am craving a hot dog from AHD. Looking forward to your reopening.
  2. I had one outstanding dinner, one very good lunch and one forgettable dinner at Ora. Haven't been back.
  3. Ora, 90 South Street, Morristown (BYO)
  4. Scarlet Knight--have you been to Orbis recently? Matt who was the sous chef has left. We had a disappointing meal there recently although Lowell thought his whole fish was very good. Seafood dumplings had a thick dough and the short ribs were bland.
  5. If you get there when they open you will have a half hour wait or less depending on what you ordered. This gives us some time to unwind at the bar.
  6. Did anyone order the southern dishes on the menu?
  7. If you go on Saturday go early. We usually go on Sunday at 5 to avoid a two hour wait.
  8. Both are very good. Highlawn Pavilion recently received an excellent from the NY Times and if you are there on a clear night the view of the NY skyline is beautiful.

    Giambotta

Do you know how many people the family size platters will feed?
  10. We went once and thought the food was good and would be a fun place to go with a group. Place is a dive and dirt cheap. The owner was extremely pleasant to talk to. We had: Yetimatim Fitfit which was teff injera bread with tomatoes, hot peppers and onions which reminded me of an Italian bread salad. Lamb cooked in Ethiopian Pot which consisted of lamb chunks from the leg, peppers, tomatoes, and onions in a sauce. This was served with injera bread. Actually everything is served with injera bread and you can fill up on it very fast. Shiro Wot made with yellow split peas that have been simmered with onions and garlic. Missir Wot which were lentils in house sauce. Gomen Wot made with collard greens stewed with shallots, onions, and awaze. Atkilt Wot which was cabbage, carrots, and potatoes with Abesha herbs. It sounds like alot but portions are small.
  11. We dined there a few weeks ago and had a very enjoyable meal. The quality of the fish was excellent. Anxious to return.

    Blu

It was my older brother’s birthday and he wanted to go to Blu. I am happy to sacrifice for him so I said yes and pulled a Turley from the basement for our dinner there. HANK ARE YOU READING THIS? Apps were an endive salad, the white bean soup I swore I would order the next time we were at Blu, a mushroom risotto, and the salmon with miso. Entrees were a skirt steak which I liked much more than the hanger steak we had last week, a special of halibut, chicken, and duck. Everything was outstanding and every morsel on everyone's plate was finished. Desserts were a chocolate terraine, crème brulee, a special of a chocolate hazelnut cake, and the tapicoa with mango. It was a memorable evening.
  13. And--I liked the sauce on the short ribs but thought the meat was tough so I wouldn't recommend them. It was the only major disappointment except for the cooked seaweed.
  14. The pan fried dumplings had a pork filling.
  15. Are you cooking? Going out to eat? How will you celebrate? And a very Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone.
  16. Had dinner here and this is now my favorite sushi restaurant. The restaurant is small. Started off with miso soup. I don't like miso soup and I loved the miso soup here. I also don't like makerel or sardines and both were fabulous and mild tasting. The sardines were served Spanish style and didn't have the fishy taste and smell you usually get with sardines. We also has seaweed salad--great and cooked seaweed--not for me. Ordered some sushi which we devoured and also had tuna served three different ways over rice. Tomo's big roll with shrimp, salmon and avocado was also a winner. And I also don't tea drink unless I'm sick but I drank two cups of the green/brown rice tea. I cannot wait to return here. I sent pictures to Beth and hopefully she'll get them up.
  17. I love the idea that they are having a Bone Appetit dog bar.

  20. BYO? What was there before? Mei Thai is at 34 Main St.
  21. Lou--Wishing you the best whatever you decide to do but can you give us more information? I mean now that you are in Zagat's is this a good move?

    Blu

We sent the pictures to hikeleader so I am awaiting his report. Lowell had an outstanding white bean soup that I am going to order next time we are there. He also had the hanger steak with a rich fig peppercorn sauce. I had the miso salmon app with tapioca and a fabulous tuna for my entree. Desserts were fabulous. Loved the chocolate bread pudding. Additionally all the dishes were artistically presernted. Noise level was high and Chef Zod is working on this problem .
