  1. I believe that there are six Washington Townships in New Jersey including Mercer County, my home many, many years ago.
  2. In addition to cash, I believe, that checks are easily accepted.
  3. To me Rita's is a place to go only if there is no other alternative. I agree with Jeff L that Rita's is hoping to become the McDonald's of water ice. Being busy is no sign of quality.
  4. My wife loves soft shell crabs. Are there any places between Trenton and past New Brunswick, including most of Monmouth County, that currently have the dish? We are willing to travel but not as far as the Monclair area.
  5. We were in the area on Tuesday and dined at Shrimp Box, plain, old and satisfying especially if you seat by the window with a view of the boats. I would think that as of today there might be a long wait, as in nearly every other restaurant at the shore.
  6. As strange as it may be to believe and as long as I have wanted to make a Pizza Club excursion, we have an engagement dinner on June 25th. Suddenly our calender is full and we are nearer to the northeast than any other section of Phildelphia.
  7. We will be staying at the Fairmont Southampton. I have a good sense of place but I will have to see where everything is in relation to our hotel. Thanks for the suggestions. We will be there in early August so I have ample time to plan. Thanks again. Aaron
  8. I heard a reoport on WHYY, I think. about tourism in Philadelphia, the need to encourage more visitors. Something stupid as this is not encouraging to any potential tourist. It makes the city look foolish.
  9. It's been a while since any postings about Bermuda. We will be there in early August for a wedding and we should have time for several dinners and a few lunches. Any recommendations would be welcome. Prefer restaurants offering what one would consider local food, whatever that may be. Thanks. Aaron
  10. One more suggestion that is different and very good. Aladdins Palace at 2607 Hamilton Avenue, where it joins Nottingham Way. Phone 609 584-0500. Prices are reasonable. We have been there several times from just us, two, to six and more and each time everybody, including the children, left happy. Aaron
  11. Very few places in the area are expensive. The exception would be Rat's and Acacia. For very good Chinese the New Restaurant at Five Points. The place has zero ambiance but very good Chinese that is not always found in the area. Phone 609 587-8958. Also at Five Points is Bill's Olde Taverne. It has been there for years and now that there is no smoking in NJ we will try it soon. It has received favorble reviews. On Route 33 there are a number of choices, all relatively inexpensive and average. Enjoy your dinner.

I would think that the lease has or is about to expire. Otherwise he would have some recourse with the landlord. Usually there is ample early warning to the tenant about the ending of the lease and the building. It should have not been a surprise. Tenants often have to move, especially after a long lease.
  13. As someone who has yet to be at any Pizza Club event, June 24 or 25, at this point, sounds good to me, and I will make every effort to be wherever you select. I am otherwise occuppied every other weekend in June. Thanks. Aaron
  14. That's funny. I just searched the Times archives and found the review of July 15, 2001 which David Corcorn gave the place an excellent. Thanks. Will read the review now.
  15. I have been reading the NJ section reviews since the very beginning and there have been very few extraordinarys. The last one I remember, I believe, was the Ryland Inn. This will warrant a drive to Middletown during a week night. The NJ section arrives with the Sunday sections but I look forward to the review. I don't think Karla Cook has rated any place extraordinar.
  16. We were there years ago and it is good but as you get older nothing is as good as it used to be. Trust me.
  17. I have been busy and not reading this board regularly but I would have liked to join this pizza adventure. Unfortunately we are having dinner to celebrate a family birthday at Chinatown Cafe. I still hope to make it to a pizza event one day.
  18. When you reopen I promise to drive from Bucks County PA to try your hot dogs. I have just read too much about you and the hot dogs. I will call you for your hours.
  19. If the place is that small couldn't we have two Mondays/Tuesdays. We did it in December and it can be done again.
  20. I have been around here for a long time and this time I may even attempt to make the pizza eating tour. The 22nd is, I believe, after the 15th and I should be free at last.
  21. Great article. I also read Holly's web site when I travel. I also like small places serving different food and Holly Eats is the best in the area. When my son was small, nearly thirty years ago, he would only eat hot dogs at any fast food place and finding one was difficult. I think Burger KIng sold hot dogs years ago. We would end up at a place called Red Barn, long, long gone, in Morrisville, which always had hot dogs.
  22. I would like to eat through my first Pizza Club excursion and the 22nd is better for me. We made a special trip to Tacconelli's years ago, so long that I barely remember. I have not been to any of the other potential choices.
  23. Although I would like to be there, at this time I am not certain if I will be able, but to me seven on a Sunday evening is very late for dinner, particularly a dinner that requires several hours. May I suggest an earlier time. We were in Newark for nearly four hours. One does not rush through a rodizio dinner.
  24. As someone who lives in the area I consider Lamberville, Trenton, Princeton and its enviorns Central Jersey. South Jersey begins somewhere south of Bordentown. It is not possible to pinpoint the exact geographic line but it can be sensed.
  25. For me it would be better at a later date, such as April 22. April 8 is near major holidays and other pressing demands. Not that I have been to a previous event but hope springs eternal that I may be able to make one.
