  1. Nerissa, Amanda puck is one of the managers if not the GM at chicago's Spago. One of Wolfgangs daughters. She is there almost every time i visit. In regards to the show, i believe you can find info on the CLTV website which i believe the show airs on. To get on the show applicants must answer an array of food related questions and their favorite restaurants of all cusine in the chicafgoland area. Hope this helps you out.
  2. Awbrig, I picked them up at trader joes on north lincoln. I believe they have the sole rights to these wines. There were some other interesting, good values that i have yet to drink. I was told they sell over a thousand cases of the charles shaw wines a week at that location alone. Let me know what you think.
  3. I picked up some of these wines in chicago. Cabernet as well as merlot. After tasting both i felt the merlot had more expressive qualities than the cabernet. Acceptable? Yes! Nothing to write home about. Interested to try the chardonnay
  4. who's handling the sommelier duties? i had heard that stuckey was leaving. have they found a replacement? regarding the vermont butter, was it from Animal Farms in Orwell, Vermont? mike mike, they traditionally use the animal farm butter as well as another butter(dont remember). when i was there this fall. In regards to bobby stucky, i know he is leaving to pursue his own business. I do not believe a replacement has officially been found, but you can be sure it will be the tops.

Dry creek kitchen in healdsburg is an option in sonoma. Had lunch there as well. service was not outstanding but the food was good. Great overpriced wine list of sonoma gems for reading!

1993 Zenato amarone drinking quite well at the moment. Drank last monday.
  11. seeing the top 10 has led me to one conclusion. $$$. I do from time to time flip throught the pages of the speculator and it does not surprise me that most of these wines or houses are very prelevant in this magazine when it comes to advertising. I am not saying that you can buy your way into the top 10 wines of the year but it may be a good start!! Guigal is certinally a dissapointment.
  12. a good pinot blanc or auxerrois might do. Some oak presence wont hurt either. check it out!
