  1. Does anyone remember Thundercrunch Potato Chips? They had jalapeno flavor and they were to die for. They were around in the mid 1980's or so. I think Tim's Cascade overtook them... but they were much better.
  2. I am looking into a manual pasta machine for under $100. I've been recommended the Atlas machine and am also looking at Imperia at Williams and Sonoma. Does anybody have any other recommendations? Thank you!
  3. I am still pretty new at baking breads. I want to make some fresh english muffins for in the morning and the recipe called for powdered milk. My question is if I let it sit overnight to ferment some, will the powdered milk in it cause it to spoil? Thank you!
  4. I thought this would be a fun topic. Let's share some candy remember from our childhood. I remember: Bottlecaps, chocolate Hubba Bubba bubble gum and gum cigarettes. What do you remember?
  5. Krispy Kreme! But, I would love to try my hand at making homemade donuts one day. Then I probably wouldn't even care for those.
  6. I make my own yogurt with a starter of some store bought yogurt. Anyone know if I can do the same process with the sour cream that is cultured and if it will give me the same results but resulting in sour cream?
  7. Hello, I am new here though I have been viewing posts here for 1 1/2 years so I feel like I kind of know some of you. Anyways, now that I've gotten my hands wet on breads, sourdoughs, etc... the past couple of years, I would like to try my hand at making decorative cakes. I got the "Cake Bible" by Rose Levy at the library to start. I know one of the first possible problems to conquer is making sure the cake doesn't stick to the pan. Do you use the parchment paper method or the butter or shortening/flour method. I would like to start with a round cake of 2 layers. What sort of pans should I buy? Thank you for your help.
  8. Is it me or has the Hersheys Dark chocolate changed? I remember scouring my Halloween candy bag for those little guys and chowing them down first. Now they just don't seem to taste the same to me anymore. Maybe because my taste for good, darn chocolate has changed to a higher standard?
  9. Anyone remember Thunder Crunch potato chips? The jalapeno were fantastic. They were not a flat chip as they had nice, big, crunch air bubbles in them. And they were cooked in peanut oil. This was back in the 80's.
