  1. Not kidding at all, my mother-in-law has been making one forever and they are actually very good. If the cola is flat or not doesn't really matter.
  2. We bought an Air last week and just started playing with it over the weekend. We haven't cooked anything exotic yet just some roast vegetables, tater tots and some fish. So far we really like it, we had a smart oven for a long time and bought this as a replacement. We are definitely looking forward to trying more things in the future to see how the new functions work. We did Air Fry the tater tots more or less just playing around and they certainly came out great.
  3. How about Coca-Cola salad? I've had it many times and it's always very good. There obviously are many recipes and flavors you can make it in but here's one directly from Coca-Cola for a starting point: Coca-Cola cherry salad
  4. That's True, that's why they are put in the system to keep water pressure on upper floors from creating additional static pressure on lower floors!
  5. Not really, in all high-rise buildings they have booster pumps at various elevations to increase the water pressure for the higher floors. They also have check valves in the system to prevent the water in upper floors from creating excessive pressure in the lower ones. The only exception is the fire systems which have all their pumps etc. at lower elevations mainly because of the size and in the extreme case of a major fire large city fire departments, FDNY for example have high-pressure pumpers that they can use to pump additional water into the building fire protection systems.
  6. Must just be a California thing, probably California declare the potato triangles carcinogenic or something stupid like that. They still have them around here and also still serve breakfast around here. I've never looked for the potato triangles in the grocery store however. I do agree that they very much like Ore-Ida Potato Crowns & Potato Tots whether they are made by Ore-Ida or not I'm not sure.
  7. I take it by having a scale so high on your list you do a lot of baking? This we do very little baking and mostly conventional cooking we hardly ever use a scale for anything.
  8. I thoroughly don't see it coming to our house! We have several restored cast iron pans that do just fine that cost a whole lot less.
  9. After reading your post I did a quick search to see what those bowls looked like. Interesting enough I found them on Amazon and they have availability of them in several sizes. Thought that might help you in your search. Ikea Blanda Blank Serving Bowl, 11-inch, Stainless Steel
  10. Just take some of that and pour it over a block of cream cheese. Then you can spread it on crackers for a really quick snack/appetizer.
  11. We recently tried a couple of their other new flavors, caramel and coffee. The caramel was not impressive at all and certainly not one we would buy again. The caramel wasn't chewy and was actually somewhat dry, this could have been because the quantity was so small became overwhelmed by the chocolate and coding. The coffee on the other hand was much better and tasted kind of like espresso beans but a little smoother because of the chocolate. This is when we would consider buying again.
  12. I generally agree with Lindag. Nothing about that dish sounds interesting to me! I'm not really into dill pickles and I haven't yet figured out why everybody is raving so much about Nashville hot chicken. Maybe I haven't had good Nashville hot chicken although says that a couple of the places locally have really good hot chicken. I guess it's just not something that my taste buds like. Combining 2 things you don't like certainly doesn't make something you like!
  13. We were in Bed Bath and Beyond the other day and they had a 3.5 quart KitchenAid mixer on display. It's the 1st time I've seen one that small. How long have they been in the market? They certainly seem like there is a small they wouldn't be very useful for most things. Also the cost was over $300 so it's not as if you're saving anything buying a smaller mixer.
  14. We've never been a lover of Chipotle's, try them a few times when they first opened but have not been back. We have too many other local Tex-Mex places around as well as some very authentic ones that have better food at cheaper prices. Of course all the issues they had with salmonella etc. over the last few years hasn't helped our view of the place either.
  15. When that reply was posted it sounded very definitive and wasn't questioned by anyone so I think the rest of us assume that it was a correct answer. Setting a tuna can inside of it to see if it said would certainly confirm that.
  16. From your description, I wonder if you really have a combination microwave or what they call a speed cook oven which uses high intensity light for cooking. A convection/microwave actually heats up much like a regular oven does. It just has microwave functionality in addition so that it cooked together both methods. It doesn't teed up it's not using convection since convection is basically moving hot air.
  17. I've never seen one that had a method to pay for the drink as part of the machine. The only place I've seen them are in various fast food restaurants such as Qdoba, Noodles, Wendy's, etc. I agree, if anything they are tracking is what's the most popular drink I'm actually in favor of it because that way they will provide new products to market based on customer acceptance.
  18. We used to have one but when it died did bother replacing it. Instead we bought a new high-powered microwave with inverter technology and replaced our oven was a convection one. The problem with the convection/microwave combination was that it didn't do either one of the functions very well. The microwave section was only 900 W and the convection functions seem to take forever to reach temperature. That was a GE built in unit, there may be others that are better but that one certainly wasn't very good.
  19. Very nice workmanship! Certainly has as much flexibility as you would ever want in a nice sharpening device. Next save will be to make it self powered!

    Oreo Cookies

I haven't tried them but IMHO that flavor doesn't sound good. Very few of the flavor combinations they come out with actually have been very appetizing. The lemon and the key lime have been about the only ones that we would buy again.
  21. I don't know what temperature chicken fat starts to melt, I know pork fat is about 180°- 190° or so. I wonder if possibly the temperatures he brought the chicken up to when making the stock didn't actually extract all of the fat from the chicken? That could explain why he did that much fat float to the surface.
  22. They look interesting, you have any experience with them?
  23. We have 5 or 6 of them around the house and they all perform flawlessly. A couple of them are the salt mills they also manufacture and they work very well too. For my lifetime I've used many different varieties of grinders including Peugeot but I don't think any of them can be the Unicorn's especially when you consider the cost compared to what you get.
  24. I agree that overall Kroger is upping their stores as far as as far as the deli section etc. goes and adding the Murray cheese shops etc. However while they are doing that I'm seeing an overall decline in their regular grocery items. They have more and more store brand items and fewer national brand items. While some of their store brand items are good there are certain items we definitely prefer the national brand and they no longer have them! The problem is that here in Louisville they are about the only game in town. We have a couple of Fresh Markets and a Whole Foods but other than that it's basically them or Walmart (both superstores and their standalone grocery stores). I grew up in Rochester New York, the home of Wegmans and would love to have 1 of them here!
