i definitely don't wash chicken, mostly because i know it can spread bacteria. and i'm certainly not under the mistaken impression that rinsing kills or otherwise sterilizes a piece of meat. i do rinse fish sometimes though, 'cause sometimes it touches other fish in the fish case, and that's icky.

they haven't had a specials menu the times i was there. although you're probably right in that any menu you have is, by association, special. if there was in fact a separate menu, i'd be curious to hear what was on it. i'm almost done eating through the regular menu.

hanger steak? was it a special or on the menu. that's a new one to me, although they've added a few things over the last few weeks. sorry to hear about the doody.
-
if i have anything to do with it. fatcat, can i ask why you went twice in one week? after my first meal there, i had the uncontrolable urge to return 4 times in one week. i don't usually do that, but i felt i had no choice here.

a bit of fine EVOO and red wine vinegar to perk up your apathy, tommy?? Do you always have such violent emotions on these subjects? not usually violent GG. but yes, apathetic. good call on the red wine vinegar. my new favorite (again). very little evoo. i like 'em acidic. and well seasoned. dried oregano is a must if onions are involved in the salad. and i haven't come up with a quick and effective substitute for bottled ranch when you've got a bunch of people over watching a game and sucking down wings (made with frank's bottled hot sauce, of course of course.)

if it's not an egullet hot dog run it ain't nuthin. linkidy. i love it when at the end, john the hot dog guy totally shuts down the other dude. excellent.

i've got 1. maybe 3. i rarely use them. in fact, i'd say never. they're for guests who might want them. and because i grew up with them, i don't find i'm terribly offended by their presence. or maybe i'm not offended by them because i just don't care enough to be bothered.

personally, i hope this means more Coors Extra Gold and that wacky canadian Molson with the 7% alcohol content in my neighborhood.
-
exactly. so i can get out of there and to home or work or the pub faster.

it looks like the canisters are 40 bucks and do about 40 bottles. that's a dollar a bottle. while that does sound expensive, it's certainly cheaper than throwing wine away. for my money i just use the ol' vacu-seal. it's cheap, and most wines will stay fine a few days, which in my house is a lifetime for a bottle.

when i develop my magical cart i'll make sure that NYC is last on the roll-out list, as clearly they have a lot of time on their hands and aren't in very much of a hurry.
-
Either that, or they'll make customers bag their own stuff. That might not go over well in the U.S., but it's routine in France, for example. well yeah, that's kind of what i am suggesting. don't most able-bodied people bag their own stuff anyway? in NJ it's pretty routine to bag your own stuff, unless you really have some desire to sit there and wait for a stoned teenager to do it. and of course there would be people available to bag for those who can't or won't. i'm going to get to work on this right away. because if people are like me, the worst part about shopping is checking out.

i'm about 2 seconds from trying this place, but i just noticed the menu is now on their website, and i can't say i'm really jazzed about it. i think i'll go to Rocca. for the 10th time.
-
And who will unload your cart full of unbagged items into your car and from the car to your house? bagging will be fit into the process somewhere. i can assure you that that's the easy part.
-
i'm not sure, but i do know that they're pierced and have tats.
-
make no mistake, goodeater, we all appreciate you taking a hit for the team.

the "kid friendly" aspect is obviously a major selling point. let's not forget that this is fast-food, and should be judged as such. i'm guessing they have a few selections that are better than McD's and Wendy's. that said, i doubt that i'll ever waste a meal there. i hate wasting meals.
-
this is some of the coolest stuff ever. they need to develop a cart that scans everything in it. when you exit the store, will your full cart, it debits your credit card and you don't have to stop.

Peaches and Herb. sparkling wine and fried food. fried food of any kind.

oops. i misread your post as "she must also be a smoker, as smokers blah blah". but, i still don't agree that one should dismiss her critique.
-
that's a pretty big leap of faith fresco, no?

it's got expensive cars in the parking lot because it's an expensive place! but it has "Chicken, Shrimp, Veal, shallots, garlic, demi-glaze", just in case you can't make up your mind.

Maybe she's been quoted out of context, but too little salt is bad? if more salt is generally used in italian cooking, then yes, it's more proof that OG isn't authentic. as if she needed more proof.
-
if experts were to pick apart every claim of authenticity, they'd be very busy people. it's pretty much a standard construct in advertising. OG probably appears to "really push it" because they make enough money to have commercials and billboards and radio time. and good salad, too. you're right about the menus of MG and OG. the same type of thing. although i'm not ashamed to submit that i like MG slightly more than OG.
