  1. oops. Gaffer's be in West Orange. i get all of the oranges confused. gaffer's has good wings and pretty good burgers, if you're interested. there's mention of them on various threads.
  2. so you've never eaten at any restaurants in ridgewood, but you say "overpriced restaurants". ah. i see. i'll be following your posts closely, as you're clearly well-dined.
  3. poots, be it near Gaffer's?
  4. i had another option in mind.
  5. today? four.
  6. :headexploding: why on earth would anyone do that?
  7. but that appears to be the *entire* equation. and i read no reference to wondee's.
  8. uh, duh. applesauce? jeesh.
  9. it sure do. they are a bit sloppy with their liquor, though. you mean you'd go to North American Lobster Company before LS?!?! oh man, i just lost all respect for you.
  10. i'm pretty sure i don't care what the answer is. the guy/girl/thing/etc doesn't seem to have very good taste, considering his/her/its/etc big picks in NJ are a pizza place, fink's, and a medicore vietnamese place on the upper west side of manhattan. and i don't think he/she/it/etc cares either. just here to make noise.
  11. jhlurie. c'mon man. yer killin us here.
  12. who votes for these guys?!? seems a little too intrusive to me. then again, i'm probably a libertarian.
  13. i called Sea Shack. they informed me that they have 1 type of oyster on any given day. now, while i'm sure they are fresh, that's not much of a selection for an oyster lover...see you at LS.
  14. well, i'll let you eat the "cheaper" oysters. i'll pay the extra 50 cents a pop for oysters that are fresh and from a menu with a great selection...at LS.
  15. looking at the Sea Shack's wine list online, i'm embarrassed. again, LS is way ahead of them in that department. 20 years ahead i'd say.
  16. tableclothes are a matter of taste, obviously. i can do without them. The Sea Shack is certainly an old-school, upscale restaurant, and resting on its laurels from what i've read. It's probably not fair to compare it to LS, as LS is a young and vibrant place...with really good oysters.
  17. NY.
  18. i *swear* it's a balance of fat and sweet. really i do.
  19. not the oysters.
  20. the Soup Dragons have a great song called "Sweet Meat", although i'm not convinced they're talking about duck and orange sauce. i can't stand duck and "orange" sauce. so many people want to pair duck with sweet. i think it's a "fat/sweet" thing, actually. pork and sweet is over-done as well. i never order it. as tissue says, lots of thai dishes have sweet components. however, i think that the balance of sour, salt, etc, works with sweet. which is probably why i love thai so much.
  21. Are you referring to your compact, six-pack tummy? If so, well then, sure..... Although it's been a long time. it's more like a 12-pack, hon.
  22. jaymes, can i assume you play the washboard?

    Chef's Table.

i remember a few years back, i was at Citrus in LA (i *think* it was Citrus). the room and kitchen were separated by a huge glass wall. we asked to be seated next to the glass so we could watch the kitchen. the chef noticed our interest, and btwn courses, came out to introduce himself. we got to chatting about food and restaurants, and he seemed very pleased with our enthusiasm. he brought out an extra course, and when the meal was done, invited us in for a tour of the kitchen. we stood in the kitchen for about 30 minutes talking about everything from food to travel to house shopping. it was quite nice, although no one fucked him. i forget his name, unfortunately.
