Leonard

Beginning his career in theatre, Leonard Nakonechny began working as part of the food and beverage team for Vancouver Civic Theatres. His passion for service equaled that of his love for theatre and for many years he was integral part of that environment.

While growing up in BC, Leonard decided in high school that the culinary industry had great appeal. His first years in "the business" confirmed this choice and after graduation, he worked with the Civic Theatres as well as being a part of the crew working at Expo '86.

Deciding that the time was right, Leonard took a break from Vancouver and travelled extensively through Mexico and then on to the Caribbean, where he accepted a position Choice Hotels as a Food and Beverage Manager. Taking advantage of the sunny climate, scuba, kayaking and beach volleyball became the leisure activities of choice. Three years of surf and sun proved to be enough and Leonard returned to Vancouver.

While working as a manager at the now closed Century Grill, Leonard had the opportunity to meet many of the famous personalities that work and visit "Hollywood North". The most important of these was meeting his soon-to-be wife Sharon, with whom he now shares a son, Aaron.

Working at C restaurant is a thrill for Leonard. He believes that the standards reflected at this restaurant are higher than any other venue he has been a part of, and the dedication to these standards is present at all levels. This reflects his own passion for the business and its development, as he has recently been appointed as a Provincial Director for the BC Restaurant Association.
