I love the Butter Chicken at Tandoori Palace on Commercial Drive. It's just a little hole-in -the-wall, but service is friendly and the food is great.

Chutney Villa on Main and Broadway was recommended to me by a gentleman from southern India.

When I moved to Canada from Germany 4 years ago, I started waitressing at Soda's Diner on Dunbar, the only job I could find without Canadian references. It was a blast - burgers and milkshakes all day, 50s music blaring from the Juke Box, and whole soccer teams coming in at lunch time. It was unlike anything I'd ever experienced in 15 years of working in the industry in Germany. I still ride my bike there in the summer to sit on the patio and slurp the best milkshakes in town.

I can definitely recommend Waazubeez for Sunday bruch, solid & liquid. We had a fabulous New Year's brunch, with several Bottles of de Venoges Rose Champagne at $70, which is about $10 above retail. It went very nicely with their fabulous Bennies.

Drive Organics on Commercial Drive has organic Meyer Lemons. They also have the most amazing selection of mushrooms (in mushroom season...) and other yummy, unusual produce throughout the year. They are also not a franchise - lets support our local small businesses! (they are across the street from Tony's deli) Sonja

Sunday Morning: Chong Qing on 12th and Commercial. Awesome food, great, inexpensive Dim Sum. The most amazing Wun Tun with spicy red pepper & Peanut Sauce. Yum. I dearly miss Fatzo's on Broadway & McKenzie, who made the best burger I've had the priviledge to enjoy in all of North America. We tried Moderne Burger last weekend, however, and had a fabulous meal. And I relly like the living room for late tapas, although I think that the quality has gone down ever since Chefs AJ and Bernard left. Where are they now?
