  1. Bump. Any new reports? I am headed down to DC next month, and this is a real fave of mine. Also, I wish they would update the website from 2003.
  2. Seconded. Their salmon is consistently the best I have had anywhere.
  3. My company has an office in Westborough. The last half-dozen plus times I've been up there, I've eaten at Oga's. I have never been disappointed. But in the interests of research,
  4. Sorry you had a bad experience at Rooney's. I've been there twice and it was pretty good both times. If you really want torture, go to the new McLoone's in Pier Village, though. Now, to the OT: I live two towns north of the atrocious "development" that has been wrought on a phenomenal location. I can't fathom what they were thinking when they designed those places (other than make a boatload of dough). No, and I mean NO, view. I also saw them going up. Ticky-tacky at best. Hurricane Irene would blow them 5 miles inland.
  5. Just like the late Dick Howser "quit" as Yankees manager to pursue a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in real estate.
  6. For us it was a little too bright outside, so we opted for a window seat. I'll second iamthestretch's food comments though. I had the "bellini", and Mrs. Polford had what she said were the two best Bloody Marys she's ever had. She had the salmon caesar salad, which I tasted (I especially loved the dressing and the fried capers accompanying) while I had the Steak and Egg. Delicious sauce with raisins and pine nuts and garlicky greens completed the dish which they thoughtfully gave me a spoon for. Naturally, we split a fries plate. The fried lemons were perfect. Hot chocolate and donuts completed a pefect meal. If I lived in DC, I'd be a regular here. Given that is's literally seconds from the Cleveland Park Metro station on the Red Line, I'll be back next time I'm in town. Then I'll have that burger.
  7. We're gonna be in DC this weekend too. Laboratorio tomorrow night, and Palena for lunch on Saturday, thanks to this board.
  8. Those pictures are AMZING!. I'm drooling on my keyboard. Thanks!
  9. We're going on 4/8. My wife and I were there a few years ago, and it was one of the best meals we've had anywhere. We took the wine pairing, and it was very generous. The service was very good, and Roberto was cordial, engaging and humorous. This time we're going with friends, which I would not do if I had any "reservations".
  10. From reading this thread, I get the impression for the most part that both ADNY's defenders and his critics are too fervent. However, there is sufficient evidence from both sides that leads me to believe there is enough inconsistency in the ADNY experience that I would not want to roll the dice at what looks at close to a grand for dinner for two.
  11. I was at Oga's earlier this week. I sat at the sushi bar and asked for an omakase sushi and sashimi for $40. It was absolutely sublime. Ama ebi, some toro that was blowtorched, salmon, hamachi, clam, octopus with smoked salt, and delicious fluke sashimi with a cilantro leaf and a dot of hot sauce. I had an appetizer of Maine uni they had just opened, served on a shiso leaf over the shell. Sublime. Whenever I am in that area on business, that's where I go.
  12. I fondly remember the Southern House in Point Pleasant. Wings, Fried Onion Loaf and their sublime ribs.
