Not real sure what I would do with that one that I couldn't do with my ceramic collection and want to give the #25 a trial run. HC

Grilled beer brat with chili, cheese and onions, some pickled turnip roll-ups and a brown porter. HC

Scrapple with kimchi aioli, fresh picked lettuce, thinly sliced onion and hot house tomato slices on a snowflake roll. HC

They are best suited for higher elevations, so here in CT, I have to let them propagate by not picking the bulbs, just the leaves. I do enjoy them very much!!!! They are a first celebration of spring. HC

I check the asparagus bed twice a day, every day and nothing yet, but I can't wait for that to change! HC

Home fries, scrapple, fresh salsa and scrambled eggs with grated parmesan cheese and diced ramp leaves from the garden. HC

Spaghetti with meat sauce. This is something Deb makes for her grandson, and I like it just about as much as he does. HC

Horseradish root, like mint, is something that must be put and kept in it's place. I planted a half of one that I did not grind up completely, in my garden and getting rid of that spreading plant was about a seven year task. HC

I bought the rolls for what I hoped would be soft shell crab sandwiches, but the season is off to a slow start. They were ordered, but never materialized. This pork tenderloin schnitzel with mayo, hot house tomato slices and lettuce from the garden was pretty good, though. HC

Chicken in TJ's red curry with cilantro lime rice. I do confess to having added a teaspoon of gochujang and a few drops of hot chili oil to the curry, as I believe the whole dish benefits. HC

I have spent the greater portion of my adult life living frugally, first out of necessity and later as I saved my A$$ off so that I wouldn't have to, later in life. Here is my modest contribution. Pork tenderloin schnitzel sandwiches. I have no price on the tomato, the lettuce was from my garden and the flour and seasoned bread crumbs are what I call "pantry items". I also have enough leftovers to do it all again, except for the rolls. HC

I was in the area and in the mood for some take out sushi. My errands completed and dinner all figured out, I decided to try and stay hydrated too. HC

I have had a similar experience. I think they were left undiscovered in the tank for too long after shedding (paper shells), but taken anyway. Like @kaybsays, they taste too good to waste, but not the great experience they should be.

I had to bump this thread up, because I spotted the first soft shell crabs this season last Saturday. These were fresh, not live, but better than none at all. I asked about them today and was told another case would be arriving Saturday morning. I will be ready for them! As the season gets rolling, I can usually track down live ones. Lightly floured and seasoned, fried in hot butter and served on a warm roll with some kimchi tarter sauce will be my season opener. HC

I spent one summer working at a fish market and learned so much about how to spot truly fresh fish, I should have been paying them for the experience. As soon as I saw this cod yesterday, I knew It would be fish and chips at the HC table last night, and it was just about perfect! HC

There is nothing lowly about a Smokey Joe, except it's stature. HC

First truly nice day in a very long time. Deb celebrated by hanging out laundry, I decided to celebrate with a load of cow manure compost. HC
