wondering if wingnuts on main is still going, wanted to go for deep fried mars bar and the last 2 days didn't see it , so not sure if i was mistakin as to the location or if it is indeed gone, any info please

funny enough was by crepe de france on main today and they were closed with similar sign posted although it was by management stating that they didn't have suitable staff to do business and will try to rectify a.s.a.p, interesting considering its not only a retail location but is also they're main kitchen for the 3 other locations

just curious is kaplan's on alberni closed? was by there at not even 4:30 yesterday aft and they were closed , maybe they close early everyday or are closed on mondays?

not a great surprise in my mind especially as far as ingredients go , climate is something that we can never compete with and lets face it van does not really have a pub culture and surely couldn't compete with a city at least 2.5 times bigger than us, maybe van and melbourne might be a better comparison, but all in all pub culture here is not what is it in much of the rest of the commonwealth, when we want good eats here its a restaurant all the way, not a pub. but i do see this asperhaps being the next big thing coming here

was down in gastown today and a new place to be called moonshine opened last night in the space formerly occupied by bavaria on carrall @ water, will be small plates(asian, mexican etc..) and lots of different beers ,only bottles for now, not open for lunch as of yet

that would seem to be it as santa barbara is on the 1300 block, it only changed its name about a month or 2 ago

is that the one thats 1 block south of sanata barbara market on west side of street ? if so its now called 4 brothers or something and yes when on tghe drive that is always my choice for very decent $ pizza, they also have small takeaways for $4,great deal
