Yeah l'Express always had the 'carte parallele' , you can find products de luxe or bottle in fewer quantity, there is also a hidden list of bottles that only the old waiters sells to the regulars (spenders) dont even try to get the information about it.... the problem I always had with them it is the the (*?*&%&%$*?% I.N.A.O glasses... my nose is to big I guess,

Well march 1st, carswell seem's to be pretty relevant. Insiders told me that it's the last stretch for the gang of the orgueilleux bistro! There a question I have since the beginning, why they didn't called it 'Toqué: le bistro..' at least to start it...

No alcool at all, not in the mini-bars, no bar, no alcool in the restaurant...euh...and the concierge best line these days:'we have a wonderfull selection of exotic juices'
-
The owner of the restaurant have to get a 'permis de reunion' .
-
First: A fact turns out to be a rumour if people dont trust it... it's part of the game. second: in a restaurant 'the people' won't confirm that kind of news...basic rule! Third: This 'bold statement' is comming from inside... and it's the whole building who's gonna change hands.

Les Halles will no longer exist and a new restaurant with a brand new staff will open at the same location... Hystory lost one again...The young folks wont even know about the legacy... Ciao

When you are managing a 40 seats restaurant in a high class food standard, you have to be really wise at the phone, it is not criminal to try to create a nice pace to the night. Sometimes you better please 42 costumers than scrap 50 of them just because you tried to pack the book... And rude callers does exist, and cheekycook could of been one, who knows! In this business, owners always have to justified, the costumers love to say they are always right,,, dont you?

just go and have a good time, it is one of the best restaurant in town!

I have nothing against being dress relax in a kitchen, dont get me wrong, I do have a problem whit cooks in shorts (security!) and dark brown dirty kitchen cloth hanging from the belt. It is not a question of germs only, it is basically a matter of behaviour and respect for the job you choose to represant (in a open kitchen)! Personally I have met a lot of people who is complaining about the same impressions at the bar of PDC! In this business the first impression is always the good one, so why not help it? About the finger tasting, I am working in this business for 20 years now, and trust me I can make the difference beetween a simple finger taste and a ' I am a pig' finger taste... Every body can make the difference, even you Skunkbunny! Of course germs are everywhere... I am not paranoîd, I simply care about the image of my job, and i hope that one day this profession will be respected for the good reasons. I love to go at PDC , but no longer at the BAR. That's it. I worth a post, and I am happy to see you are conrned about it!

The food was great, have to say
-
Went to PDC and I was disgusted by the way the kitchen staff looked like and how they keep the open kitchen during the night! And the Chef just made my post by finger taste 4 sauces in a row whit the same finger... in the same minute just in front of me... I am in the business, but *%$*&? it is a open kitchen boss, please behave like you care!

Yeah I agree Le Lemeac is always a sure bet, and the staff is always there for you. At the bar the vibe is so cool, maybe there is a lack of mirrors(express is better mirror wise...) when you are alone but the barman makes you feel good. La vieille prune always come in this format i think. They had it at l'express before.

-Well, personally I really enjoy the Lemeac terasse because it is well organize and you dont feel to be on a boat deck, the little gardens are well done and give's a charming vibe to the place, add the late night spécial (20$ for 2 courses)and you find my best pick! -I really do enjoy also the terasse of la Hacienda on van horne, great mexican authentic food... the best margarita's in town!

L'Express: good verry flavourfull but not handcut....purée style ....good fries! Frite alors!: simple but too much tabasco taste not equilibrated..greasy belgium fries mmmm, awsome mayos.... Leméac: Handcut! The texture's perfect, maybe a bit too flat sometimes, the fries are just perfect! And go there after 10pm, big 20$ special Do you have more good adresses??? waiting for your hints!
