  1. When we went a couple of weeks ago, that part of the menu was still there. Really enjoyed the food. They told us that they were about to move to South Orange - does anyone know their new address?
  2. Just a guess (I haven't seen the news article), but I suspect that the owner plans to replace the existing building with something else.
  3. Very disturbing. This has been one of my favorites for several years. I will miss them and realy hope they can relocate soon.
  4. Sorry - I kept getting an error message from my browser and thought my entry didn't get posted.

  7. I happen to like their Chicken Mole and the Gaspacho. I now work not too far away and plan to stop for dinner on my way home from time to time.
  8. I tried it yesterday evening, and enjoyed it very much. Maybe I've been trying the wrong things, but this is the first restaurant I've tried whose use of spices reminds me of the last-lamented Afghan Grill in Edison. I disturbed by the fact that I was they ONLY diner in the dining room, but when I asked the waitress/hostess about it she said that Thursday is a very quiet day. Even though the menu is not very extensive, I would describe it as a full-blown restaurant. It is actually a very highly decorated dining room, with many (presumably Afghan) objects scattered around the periphery. Service was a little lax but very friendly. That was probably because I was the only one there, and the same people were running both the pizza place and the restaurant. I do plan to return.
  9. On their web site under "treats" "BAHIANES ALMONDS & HAZELNUTS SKU: 3595183 100236 Weiss remains one of the very few chocolate makers dedicated to controlling all aspects of production and mastering all techniques relating to the elaboration of its chocolates. Weiss only buys beans of noble origin in the best lands in the world: Venezuela, Equador, Trinidad. Selecting the best quality beans, expert blenders use their knowledge and expereince to achieve the best possible combination according to the desired mix, sometimes adding Sambirano beans from Madagascar or Forasteros fromt eh Ivory Coast when necessary in order to intensify certain Characteristics"
  10. wow! I'd never heard of a bicerin. I am a mocha nut ( no pun intended) so I will definitely be ordering this , tonight. Thanks Curlz! ← So what's the difference between a cafe mocha and a bicerin - they sound very similar?
  11. I Ihave M'd Jason about this. I paid for 2 - really looking forward to the event. I have found out that I must attend a funeral that afternoon, and probably won't be able to get there. I don't know whether it is still possible to cancel, and if not I will still try to make it. Thanks
  12. Actually, right now (or at least as of last monday), the real challange is getting out of the parking lot. The road work has moved traffice onto what is usually a shoulder lane so that there is no shoulder.

I was there yesterday (Christmas). I believe the sign on the door said they would be open New Years also.
  14. I have a friend who is looking for a hotel in north Jersey that has a New Yers Eve party/room deal. They say they like to celebrate at a hotel and stay over so they don't have to drive on New Years Eve. Any suggestions?
  15. I went there yesterday evening. Right now they have added some post-breakfast specials (after 11 weekdays, after 3 weekends). These include a few chicken crepes, burgers, cheese blintzes, and a few other items.
  16. I have been going here quite often recently. I think their quality is very high, and it is very convenient for me. My favorites, so far, are the Swedish Pancakes, Dutch Baby, and omlettes. I haven't tried the Apple Pancakes yet.
  17. The Miriam-Webster online dictionary defines a chain as: "a group of enterprises or institutions of the same kind or function usually under a single ownership, management, or control <fast-food chains>" By that definition, Jason's examples ARE chains.
  18. Jason Do you happen to know what the hours are in Fort Lee? I forgot to check when I was there.
  19. Jason Thanks for the post. I live very close to the OPH and probably would not have noticed it. I tried it this morning and thought the quality was very high and the menu interesting. It is somewhat more expensive than the usual breakfast menu, but not outrageously so. I plan to go back there.
  20. Not fair Jason, now, after drooling at you photos, I'll have to go back there AGAIN (and I've been there 3 times since last Thursday).
  21. Update on hours: I stopped there yesterday. They are going to be closed on Mondays.
  22. I tried this place yesterday, and I agree with the above comments. I've always wanted to have a local place like this (inexpensive, informal, quick Indian).
  23. Thanks for the info. It's too bad - their food was really good.
  24. I drove past Dhaaba yesterday, and the sign in the window says it will reopen as a new Indian restaurant. Also, has anyone seen what Dragonel's updated menu is like?
