  1. I went here last Friday and it was great. They had just changed the menu that day. I can't wait to get back. I can't wait to get back. 3 of us did the 3 course meal which meant 3 apps, 3 pastas and 2 meats. The only thing I would change would be two of our apps. The crostini was good but not very interesting and the chilled mussel salad was fresh but dull. Otherwise it was all very, very good. The service was great and we had a fun time with our server. AND I managed to run into 3 people I knew that were dining there. So much fun. I happily recommend this restaurant. One last - get the polenta.
  2. They shopped at MY Whole Foods! Well, not mine but, you know....

    Tagine Pot

I received a tagine for Christmas. It's the glazed terra cotta from Sur La Table. It said to soak it for 12 hours before its first use. I was planning on oiling the inside but was wondering if there was anything else I should do? Thanks! Here's the one I got http://www.surlatable.com/product/glazed+t...asc=true&page=1
  4. Best wishes to Chef Achatz.
  5. I'm hitting a spot in Chicago that was known for their foie gras. But since the ban I know there are code words at some places. This might be a faux pas to ask but Ima hungry!
  6. Very sad. RIP Bux
  7. Thank you Tony and crew.
  8. Raw tomatoes. Oh how I've tried to like them.
  9. Page Six From today.
  10. I'm curious as to what to expect. I'm just there for breakfast and I wondered if anyone knew what to think about what to expect. I would also like to know what the experiences are with dinner. Has anyone stayed at The James? It's near to where I work and I'm asked often to recommend places to stay and eat. I think with its proximity to Michigan Ave. I would suggest it but with a glut of whatever food around there I'd like to know if it was worth it.
  11. I'm totally embarrassed for my city. This is just ridiculous.
  12. The moment that got me was when one gentleman was asking if Tony would be back and he said something along the lines of "oh yes, Next year. I like it here." Then the one guy translate that second part and the guy says, "He can have it." Poignant and yet funny.
  13. Taste of Chicago! yes, I'm kidding. Sort of.
  14. Fox has yanked Kitchen Confidential, for now at least. The article doesn't say much. It's about midway down. NY Daily News
  15. During an all-night drink fest a friend of mine made his special sandwich that he named, "A Sandwich So Good It'll Make a Fat Baby Cry." I don't know about a baby but by the next day it certainly had us crying! :) Fortunately or not, I don't remember all that went into it.
