Mail order in new zealand

Recommended Posts

Hi Cherie,

My friend mentioned that Selini Estate has a gourmet shop and mail order service. They may have some 70%+ chocolate for you  If not I can send a care package from Vancouver  I remember seeing a number of gourmet food companies advertising in that great NZ food magazine called "Cuisine" Hope you are enjoying winemaking in the Southern Hemisphere. You should post some of your wine adventures on e-gullet.

Cheers,

Stephen

I can't help with mail order, you might contact a high end chocolate shop or a culinary school to see if they will sell you some stock. The people who work in such places have big hearts and will understand that you are bereft.

If only Jack Nicholson could have narrated my dinner, it would have been perfect.

You can order dark chocolate from Sabato - a food store here in Auckland, their website is www.sabato.co.nz. Here is a quote from their website: "Sabato imports artisan products from France, Italy and Spain, sourcing unique interesting ingredients so you don't have to. We have introduced a huge selection of traditionally made products ranging from Spain's famed La Chinata smoked paprika - now a kitchen cupboard staple for many - to Giusti's aged balsamic vinegars; delicious gourmet Basque pâtés, delectable olives, artisan Rustichella pasta, organic Ferron risotto rice and divine Valrhona chocolate! We also have our own range of delicious Italian made pasta sauces, pastes and preserves. If you're looking for quality ingredients (with a difference) to complement New Zealand's great produce, Sabato is your gourmet food destination."

Sending a thanks to those that responded and also a note about what else I have found. I had found www.sabato.co.nz which has Valrhona but couldn't find anything higher than 70%. I did find www.chocolateboutique.co.nz which has two Italian chocolates Domori (has 70-100%) and Venchi and a better shipping price too!

Cheers!
