The article in today's San Francisco Chronicle.

Martinez is best known as the birthplace of the late baseball great Joe DiMaggio, but the martini is an icon in its own right.

"It (the martini) is a big part of American culture and needs to be recognized,'' said Leeann Lorono, Main Street Martinez executive director. "We want to create an ambience of elegance that comes with the martini. We want to honor Martinez and the martini.''
