Bought this in Paris a few years ago

L'abandon Domaine Sarda-Malet (1997)

I figure it's a muscat, it was about 37 francs (4 years ago) gorgeous bottle,

am wondering if anyone has ever tried it and can tell me about it...keep saving it for a fabulous dinner party I haven't had a chance to have yet.

I am a big fan of the wines of this estate. L'abandon is a muscat and I would drink it while younger rather than older because of the wonderful fruit. The wine should be quite lovely now.

Here is the estate's website:

...also if you write to the importer they can probably send you a fact sheet on the wine - write to: europvin@europvin.com

l'abandon isn't muscat it's malvoisie; as such i think it is likely to age a little better.

It is not as impressive as I had hoped: decent balancing acidity, not cloyingly sweet, but there's something missing, it just doesn't sing.
